I'm not able to watch but I'm guessing that may be a pretty hostile crowd???

I got to see about an hr's worth before I left for work, huge crowds, obviously pro Europe but no real hostility even heard a few "U.S.A". chants

Maybe because we are winning??!!

After the last cup, I figured they would be rowdy

Lots of guys playing better than Phil, dont understand that pick at all
It's because he's Phil. He has been off, and maybe past his prime, but he's still one of the most entertaining guys on tour, and he still draws the crowds.
Phil the thrill. Never know what you'll get with him.

I woke up at 2:30am to watch....little tired at work today. Watched the first matches at home and had the afternoon matches on in the background at the office.

Tiger and Phil both looked pretty bad. Neither have fared well in Ryder Cup play over time. They've both had their moments, but all-in-all have been underachievers in this event.

We let a really good start wash away. After going up 3-to-1 I would have been pretty happy with 4 1/2-to-3 1/2, or even, worst case, tied at four. Being down 5-to-3 is a monumental shift and makes things look bleak. I'm afraid if we can't square things up after tomorrow the Cup is staying in Europe.

I agree the momentum is with Europe now and the USA has to do tomorrow morning what they did this AM. Even at that I think it stays in Europe

I'm out of town and have no access to television. Who won the tournament last weekend? Asking for a friend.
All my friend said is that the ratings were way up so I figured there was a reason.

Hart how could you not know who won the tourney? Hell he could’ve finish tied for 85th and still would’ve gotten all the headlines.

I obviously want the Americans to win, but I WILL NOT pull for woods

I'm not a fan either.....at ALL.
But serious question.....last hole. Tiger vs Rose and whoever wins this hole, wins the cup.....you pulling for Rose or Tiger??

For me, woods is the tarhole of golf, so there is no scenario that would make me root for him.

I get ya.....kinda feel the same, but just don't know if I could actually pull for us to lose unless I was actually put into that situation.

Is the hate for Tiger a result of his past or his present? I'd venture to guess that he has learned a lot about himself from what he went through during the divorce and from the potential career ending back surgery. Life is fleeting in the grand scheme of things. I dont see the indestructable and arrogant Tiger of old, I see someone who has faced a lot of adversity of their own making, battled to get themselves back on track and who is grateful for the second chance. While I dont condone his prior behaviour, I do tip my hat to his new found humility. He could prove me wrong but I prefer to look at the good side of people vs the dark side....with my eyes wide open of course. Go Europe!

Kind of embarrassing huh? With all the top U.S. players in the world you would think we would do better. OFC

A huge problem I think is the Europeans embrace the "team" thing a little better than our guys.
Individual sport. It's why Tiger struggles in team play, I think. You have to play with some fire, and let it rub off to your partner. He is better by himself.

Anything can happen tomorrow.

Not having the start we needed in the singles. Europe not missing any putts no matter what the length. If that keeps up, we have no chance.

I definitely think embracing the ‘team’ concept is part of it, although I do think that’s getting better with new, young U.S. players. At least, on the surface it looks like the young players today get along more.

Both Tiger and Phil, using them as current examples, weren’t always viewed as ‘team’ guys on the Tour when younger. Now they’re probably just past their prime....Phil, for sure.

The biggest thing, though IMO, is course setup. Two years ago, Davis Love didn’t lie when he said Hazeltine would be set up long, with wide fairways, minimal thick rough and pins that guys could attack. They wanted to be able to make birdies.

European golf is just different. They play more conservative and it’s a bit like target golf. There were three fairways this week less than 30 yards wide. If that was me, I’d be icing my wrists on the flight back across the pond....or they’d be broken. American golf takes on John Daly’s old mantra of grip it and rip it.

PGA wants to see long drives and players going low. True golf is a mixture of power, accuracy and touch. The course definitely valued accuracy over power - although I think some US players showed they have both. I was impressed with Finau and Koepka as rookies.

I'm sure in 2 years the course will be set back to a drving range with greens to favor PGA type play.
Although having walked Whistling Straits that may be hard to do! Its links style...home advantage? Maybe, maybe not.

On the team concept, the US has embraced that too I believe...players ate together, stayed together etc the week of the British open, played practice rounds when in the US.....however, the Euro players just seem to have one more level of passion for this competition
