Just comparing the two teams, the Europeans as a whole, want to kick our a**. I agree that we need the young blood, or guys that really want to win for the USA. Phil, as much as I like him, and Tiger, don't seem to bring it when it comes to the Ryder Cup. Then you look at two guys on their side, Garcia and Poulter, as old as Phil and Tiger, they really come to play.

It also starts with the coach. Phil caught a lot of flack, as he should have for his play Friday, and he sat all day Saturday. Hindsight is 20/20, but Tiger should have been a cheerleader as well.

Golf is about accuracy.....the way they play on the pga tour now with wide fairways and short rough so these guys can bomb it 320-350 with no regard is the problem....the Europeans are much more accurate...their tour is set up with much more narrow fairways and rough that penalizes you....even our own us open has got to the point where the fairways are 50 yards wide and they have taken the rough down significantly....

It’s why we struggle in Europe....they know it....they see the course up narrow and with punishing rough....it penalizes the way US Golf is played now days...we where not even competitive...

If this would have been a major Molanari would have won again because the guy is a machine.....perfect setup for him....and how golf used to be played....

If you want to find out who the best golfers are....stop making 500 yard par fours....stop making it a bombers game....bring the yardages back....tighten the fairways.....make the rough tough....put premium on accuracy again and you will see hundreds more that are in contention not just the guys that hit it 320 all over the map with no repercussion....

What’s really funny is...we could have used a guy like Furyk playing this week....he would have been Taylor made for this course....we left all our straight hitters at home....

You mean like Zach Johnson who was a vice captain when he should have been a captains pick

I stated that in an earlier post,Zack should have been on the team, great putter and would have been a calming influence over some of the young Americans

Guys there is reason Spieth didn’t want to play with Reed and it stems from the Bay Hill tournament. There is a video that shows Reed making comments while he was taking a penalty stroke and it referenced Spieth

This is true! Reed apparently told a PGA Tour rules official "Spieth would have received a more favorable ruling." I am not a Reed fan, nor a Spieth fan as both have their bratty moments.

I have played competitive golf and match play there is nothing worse then playing with someone that says what Reed said I can’t say I blame Spieth for not wanting to play with Reed. That’s just me though

I think JT was our best player this weekend. Spieth is 0-7 in singles including presidents cup. Bubba and Phil are head cases and can't hit in play. The captain has to pick 4 players that are suited for the course setup. If I had to play Tiger and Phil I would pair them up and take one loss instead of two.

Funny you say that. I was saying i was hoping that Phil would draw Fleetwood or Molinari in singles so that it wasted one of their two best players on our worst. Tiger losing to Rahm is pathetic, same for DJ and Jordan. Overall this team to me just looked like it didn’t care outside of a few guys.

I'll do a search and see if I can find it. I read something about that on Monday evening. Apparently, some of the U.S. players were hanging out with the European players Sunday night in their suite (which isn't uncommon, I know the same happened after we beat them at Hazeltine two years ago) and DJ and Koepka needed to be separated. Pretty sad, if you ask me.

Well story has multiple sources and The Golf Digest is almost the bible for golf news and has been for decades. Ironic, close friends, etc....Could have stemmed from golf to DJ's rumored transgreesions w/another woman, whatever but fuses were lit to say the least!

DJ is notorious for his transgressions. Why he would is beyond me given who he is married to
They’re engaged, have been for a while but never got married.

To your point though, there are lots of rumors that he didn’t “slip” a few years ago at the masters, rather was caught with another players woman and got tossed down the stairs. I don’t know if that is true or not but that has been rumored.

Always thought we never got the full story on that Timo.....Sounds very plausible...

I guess the comments by Phil in the press conference about how they came together as a team was BS.

One story that's true is DJ 's putting has went way south.

Very true King. Had him in some office pools this year, and you can never tell what hes going to do next. Even his booming drives tended to be erratic at times this past year...

Phil's about ready for the senior tour, nothing wrong with that,he'll dominate there for a few years,be interesting to see if he would consider being Ryder Cup captain some day especially given the grief he's given some captains in the past
