Considering they could kneel if they got close to the goal I see no harm. And there is value to extra reps for the reserves.
Well I wouldn't like it if we were on the wrong side of a 45-13 game and the other guys go for it on 4th & 4 there at that spot on the field.

Really - even if Adam Korsak was the punter? Pinning them at the 1 to set up a potential safety wouldn’t have come across more classy. It’s not like we took a shot down field at the end zone to try to run up the score.

And in any number of other hypotheticals if the punt goes in the endzone or out around the 10? Cmon.

Huh? In that case, Delaware still gets the ball back with far less of an “opportunity” to make the score look closer than they had.

The point is with Korsak as our punter, there was a much higher probability there of a big special teams play setting up a situation where it would be next to impossible to restrain your 3rd team from playing defense and going for the safety.

Instead, we ran an extremely low risk reward play on 4th down that allowed our back up to throw the ball again. but had almost no chance of resulting in big gain. If we got the first down, we could’ve (and would’ve) ran out the clock with the next set of downs. Nothing about what was done was “showing up the opponent” or aiming for style points. Last week by the way we took a knee to end the game in the red zone.

Never said DEL should have an opportunity to score. In fact I've been clear about questioning going for it then and there at that field position close to midfield. I don't like giving them the ball there with 4+ minutes left to play especially with R defensive backups in. Let Korsak either punt it around the 10 or knock it in the endzone. If we were 10-15 yds deeper in their end I have no problem running a conservative play on 4th & 4. Score, time remaining and field position all factor into my opinion. Consider another hypothetical where we have the ball on our own 40-45 yd line that late in the game up 32 pts, would you still want to go for it on 4th down?

The game was over. It didn’t matter one way or another where we were on the field since the outcome was not in doubt.

Huh? So if we're inside our own 20 at the point we go for it too?

Let's just agree to disagree, not worth spending any more time arguing here.
You are arguing about a play that had zero meaning in the outcome of the game? WTF. Enjoy the easy win and stop complaining.

Yes thank you. That was exactly my point. It didn’t matter at all. We had 3rd team players in the game with a 32 point lead and nothing about that play call was offensive.

I enjoyed the ez win. I made a statement that we should've just punted at that point in the ez win. PASL is arguing that I'm wrong. I just stated let's agree to disagree--but thanks for sharing.

Why are you arguing about a play that was totally irrelevant??

Let me rephrase it. Why even bring up the totally irrelevant play?
I felt like making a comment at the time on the Board. Opinions and comments during a game are ok with you amirite? Now, why would another poster argue about that play that's so irrelevant ? And why would you decide to argue about an argument about said irrelevant play?

Not really. You said you enjoyed the win but actually you didn't as you complained about a meanless play. In a thread full of complaints in a game never in doubt yours seemed to the biggest oddball of all of them.

Fake handoff to the ghost 12th man. Love that play.
I didn’t see that but I do often see him going to make a play action fake but the RB has to pickup a blitz. That’s common and better than when the RB take the fake and our QB gets his head taken off.

Sure brah, nobody can enjoy a win because of one play in garbage time. Give it a rest.

Cole Snyder does not look like he knows the offense at all.
Really dude, they are calling in the plays and frequently changing them on the side lines? According to you though, I guess Cole was just lucky he was able to complete every pass and the receivers just happened to run the correct routes with him being so confused and not knowing the offense, right? Wow were we lucky 🙌. I think you were drinking too much of the MACALLAN Saturday night...lol

Thank you. I rewatched the end of the game wondering the same thing.
