Watching the second round, his long hitting is being neutralized by all of the fairway bunkers he's landing in. He's only hit one fairway through 11 thus far.The TV guys just said what I have pointed out before.
For a guy who hits the ball a long way which should be an advantage, he struggles on Par 5's. On 8 he had to make a 9 footer for Bogey. He's 1 Over for the 3 Par 5's so far today.
He's 3rd in Driving distance but as you pointed out, only 9/24 hitting fairways (68th out of 72). Earlier he was 54 yds from the pin but completely missed the green. From the Fairway on the 608yd Par5 12th, he hit his 2nd 300 yds ending 24-25 yards over the green. Did the same yesterday only that was 70 yds offline His 3rd went 65' past the pin.
