We should probably go ahead and hire a coach who has experience doing well with traditionally weak programs against stronger programs who have better histories.
I just don’t want it to get so filled with blue bloods that all the new blue bloods kick the old traditional members out
2010 called, they want their conference realignment plan back.I heard something vastly different. NC State is the one we are after. That would be the quickest way to expand the SEC footprint. North Carolina is the 9th most populated state in the US. That's the most important thing for money.
Lastly, the borderline Ivy League schools in the ACC (like Duke, NC and WF) would likely not join. Football isn't their biggest driver of money and prestige.
As great as Clemson and FSU are, they wouldn't add much to the SEC in terms of TV money.
This is a fact. While Clemson has done well enough in the ratings during the postseason (when they play Alabama), their regular season television ratings are worse than ours.

I'm guessing you are over 50 and still have a local cable provider.
Great bit
They’re going to get more tie ins.
Leach was 2-8 vs Texas & 3-7 vs Oklahoma at Texas Tech. Don’t kid yourself. We won’t be any more competitive against them than we are against the other blue bloods in the SEC.

How many 5-5 LSU teams did Mullen face?
Mullen was also 3-3 vs A&M. But that’s my point. It’s damn hard to beat teams like Bama, Auburn, LSU, A&M, Texas & Oklahoma, even in the good years. For us to be successful, we have to take advantage of the rare years they’re down, steal one here & there when they’re not down & beat teams like Arkansas, Mississippi & Kentucky more than we lose to them.
Trust me, Texas belongs on the list. Even in the last "down" decade for them and the greatest decade in our history since WWII, they still went 73-53 (50-39) to our 74-54 (36-46), finished ranked 4 seasons to our 3, and had the only top 10 season either of us had in 2018 at #9. And that was a bad decade for them.
