I don't claim to be an insider and don't have sources. But my point in saying what I did is that if it's the same name the Hall guys are claiming, I see such little likelihood of it happening that I think expectations should be tempered. Not even worth putting the name out there.

Never understand why posters do this. There really seems no reason as to why you would not share a "speculative rumor" unless you actually have no information and are just spamming this thread.

This is my first post RE: the coaching search. I have been taking in all the comments as well as the small amount of "information" that has been available.

I have now convinced myself to believe it will be Dawkins. Part of that is based on what has been posted, part on timing, and part on wishful thinking.

I am just glad the DH is out of the picture.

I said it because I see people getting excited and I don't think they should be. It's not my rumor. I think it's a crazy rumor. I'm prepared for a very reasonable coach to be here next season, most likely a local mid major.

Dawkins would be interesting but doesn't fit the description provided...that describes Massiello, the one candidate that I heard was on board with local recruiting ties to area and would walk to RU....not sure what the extension he just agreed to looks like.

Masiello has issues. Remember he was at UL - he was an asst - UL has a scandal - do the math.
Also the resume thing. I think he'd be great, however.

Masiello is another one that would fit that description as well. But I kind of wondered what might be in his contract too. They took him back after the whole degree fiasco so I think it would be plausible for them to put some protections in the contract for themselves for at least a little bit of time.

Guys, I can confirm with HIGH CONFIDENCE that the OP is correct. The coach that is announced will indeed have a name (first AND last).

Unfortunately I can't post the name since I have to protect my source. But once the school makes the announcement I will confirm.
