Rutgers had more ground balls, more saves, and won more faceoffs.

20 turnovers cost us the game. You take 5 of those away and we win the game.

While it is a bad loss the stats tell a slightly better story. We did not get beat we honestly beat ourselves.
Who cares. It’s a loss. And a bad one. We know how that goes come tourney time

Not-for-nothing BUT:

- cut lead to 7-6
- half
- down 9-6 before we wake up

...do I need to keep repeating myself about our teams and the almost-across-the-board inability to come out of a locker room ready to play ALMOST every ******* game?! It’s STUNNING how other teams CONSTANTLY get the jump on us and, today, it cost us.

Here’s why this game ticks me off even more. While we’re struggling with Army, PSU handled stony Brook 15-4. I’m sure Army is better than Stony Brook, but man PSU has not broken a sweat in three weeks. Bad bad bad

I absolutely care. Numbers to me are critical in every aspect of the game. As a coach, and a fan, I have looked at numbers my entire life.
Great. We have this discussion every year whenever we lose. If cut down on x or win x amount of more face offs blah blah blah. Maybe we’re not as good as we think.

We need to make it to the B10 championship. Do not have to win it yet, but thats where we need to end up.

The problem with Army is that they're that team that is good enough to pull an upset yet bad enough to be considered a bad loss. Either play elite teams or teams so bad they have to have their mom's tie their cleats for them.

We lost three All Americans from last year.

I was always skeptical of us replacing that kind of talent and size.

Unlike some of you probably, I don’t think we’re good enough as a program to reload.

That’ll be the excuse this year. I know Cali, Family et al, think Brecht is a God - and I still support him - but I’m really starting to wonder if there’s “something” missing here??

What really irritates me is we spent how much money on these coordinators/assistant coaches and we are a WORSE team than before, not better.

We are a lucky 2-1 right now staring at a potentially ugly loss next week IF we don’t step up our game.

Technically we should be. Our recruiting gets better every year.

Hopkins getting flattened by Loyola right now. I'm not holding my breath vs LU based on what I've seen the first 3 games.

On bright side W Gymnastics up after 2 rotations vs MSU ... W lacrosse heavy favorite at home ...men have a chance against a ranked foe at home ... go RU!!!! Can’t lose them all!

I would be STUNNED if we knock off a 2nd straight ranked conference opponent. This may possibly have been a FANTASTIC hire by AD Hobbs.

We cut down on the turnovers and we can score on any team in the nation.
Fragile now? It's Feb 16th! What does that mean. All you do is talk about the amazing strides the program has made etc.

We have. But Mullins, and AC going down. Marron looking banged up. Our FOGO banged up and a tough mental loss is a perfect storm for a set back. Need to power through it.

Loyola is gonna kill RU next week. They're making Hopkins look like a HS team.
17-9 over Virgina and now 16-9 on Hopkins. That’s gonna be a tough game. I would say maybe being home will help, but we just lost to Army at home. I’m still ticked off.

I do not think Hopkins is a great team this year.

If we play our game we will be fine. If we play like today we will get smoked. I heard we will get our starting FOGO back which will help a lot if true.

Could be our version of Mack Brown. Can attract talent, but when it counts can capitalize on doing something with that talent always come up empty.

Mack Brown won a nation championship against one of the best college football teams of all time. If Brecht is Mack Brown, I’ll glady take that

Where did I say he was a god? I think the BB has brought Rutgers lacrosse from the complete and total mess that it was when Stags was here and has greatly improved recruiting but so has everyone else. he is still struggling to get kids off the Island and we never get a kid from Upstate NY anymore. I will say at this game is on the staff as well as the players. they needed to be ready for Army's ride which we were not. They are getting very little out of their midfield. You can tell that they are struggling to find the right combination at midfield as they ran a 3rd different group this week. Coyne in a sophomore slump? So they have 2 consistent scorer's that is simply not enough. I love this freshman class but maybe they need to move Daninger to offensive midfield and maybe move Rose to the second. Rose is definitely struggling in this new offense. Where has Kamish been? they have played 4 different kids on the 1st midfield (along with Rose) but, they ahve not given Kamish this look.
an example was at the end of the game they are in 1-4-1 and Rose on the right wing as a left, he gets under his guy but has almost no angle to shoot. But, they have to play him there as Sanguinetti is a lefty on the other side. if they have Kamish in there he can dodge to the top side of the goal and let Rose dodge top side to his strong hand. Rose misses his shot (although be beat the goalie he bounced it over the top). I am the first one to admit that I am not at practice everyday so i don't now what I don't know.

I was just messing around because you guys get VERY touchy if anyone has anything negative to say. Or, at least, prior to today. Cali was not very happy today that’s for sure!

Nice summary, thanks, but the staff better figure it out REAL QUICKLY lol!

Neither was I they wasted a spectacular effort by Max. This was a 15-9 without him

Army @ Syracuse next week will provide some clarification on where things stand. 'Cuse up by 1 against Albany in the 2nd.

Loyola and PSU should be #1 & 2 on Monday. Losing to Loyola will have no impact on RUs tournament hopes. But one more loss to a non-powerhouse (no way is Army a weak team) and they're in trouble.

Dude your school doesn't even have a lacrosse team. Go back to the Rutgers football free board. Here you're out of your element. Just because your school joined a conference known for lacrosse doesn't mean you know a damn thing about it BC fan.
