If HCMR n staff can start winning games, we will begin to win these recruiting battles.

As it is, they still did well given the little amount of time they had.

Zero U. wasn't much better than we were this year, and Venables has less of a track record than Rhule.

Maybe we dodge a bullet with this one. Torn labrum for an OT could be worrisome. He could end up as wasted roster space for OU.
I sort of said that after I found out about his injury. I didn’t want to rain on the parade but he won’t be 100% by fall camp IMO.

had everything to do with landing him, though?

convenient!
Apparently we had more than Io_a. I never said once that we landed Rouse because of Raiola. This kid was wanting to get paid by some dumbasses willing to take the risk on an OT with a labrum tear when the NFL wouldn’t. I was skeptical he would be ready by fall.

Too bad for us but I wish all the best for him and his new team.

Seems like we need to improve our NIL. Isn’t that three linemen now we’ve lost to other teams due to NIL?

Dissapponting for sure but he is his own man and he can do whatever he wants. In the end, does it really matter "why" aside from having someone or something to blame like the old evil empire?

I guess the name calling and bad wishes come with the territory but why?

Not to get all doom and gloom, but this is a crushing blow. Getting Rouse felt like it could change the trajectory of our season. Now it feels like we suck again :(

Props to OU boosters for staying on this kid and getting him the money needed. I don't blame him, we all leave jobs for more money. Think it's a bit disingenuous to be quoting your bible when this was really all about the money all along though
Disingenuous? He's a tool.

Not using this as a "didn't want him anyway", but I heard Sipple say he needed shoulder surgery and probably wouldn't be available for the spring practice...
Because spring practice is so important to a guy who has 49 starts??? Got it LOL

If he commits but doesn’t enter the portal again is he allowed to be contacted by other programs?

I didn't realize he had a torn labrum. I'm no doctor or involved in sports medicine but my memory from my coaching days was 4 weeks in a sling and depending on the individual another 6 weeks minimum of rehab possibly 4 to 6 months before normal lifting and activity.

Yes I can see why he didn't go to the NFL right now

Ouch. This hurts no matter what. Nebraska needs major improvement on the line, and this guy was penciled in as the Day One starter from the moment he committed.

He’ll have a limp noodle for an arm this summer. He might make it back by September but there’s no way in hell he’ll be 100%.

I don’t believe either NU or OU would have wasted a scholly on the guy if they thought he wouldn’t be ready to play. Just my opinion.
