Alabama loss dropped them to 69 in RPI. Albany lost in first round of conference tourney. Florida dropped below 50 in RPI. UCLA got beat by Oregon. Not the end of the world, but could have been a better night.

NJIT also lost to 10-21 Stetson in the first round.

Both NJIT and Albany were major disappointments in their respective leagues.

We were 11 before the games last night, what are we now?

NJIT isn't a huge deal because they were not expected to win the conference. One of my alma maters, University of North Florida, is the 1 seed and heavy favorite to win the conference. Losing to Stetson does hurt though.

I was really hoping UCLA would beat Oregon.

NJIT was picked 2nd and should've been better than they were this year. They lost 7 non-conference games, but all were to solid teams (Kentucky, Providence, Albany, Columbia, Yale, Kent State and Stony Brook). Losing 6 in the A-Sun and then to the worst team in the league in the first round...ouch.

West Virginia jumped UK last night. Was really hoping Tubby would take them out last night.

Yeah but I am glad NJIT lost as that means UNF will have an easier road to a tourney game as I live in Jax , fl and UNF is great story around here . They are the best 3 pt shooting team in all of college. Regardless what teams like Albany and NJIT do have little effect on us as if we win out we will be a 3 seed. Hard for us to get 2 now and hard for us to get a 4 unless we lose saturday at home which ain't happening.

As the OP and @KA4Prez have said though, collectively all of those games did hurt us. I was hoping we could creep into the top 10 but that took a big hit last night.

RPI means nothing this year. .WE don't fear the seed. The other teams fears OUR seed for us this year.
Its anybody but Kentucky.
Who the heck would wanna play the best point and shooting guard duo in the tournament?
You don't want Kentucky in your region cause you will EARN it against 4 players with final four experience. Don't forget Hawkins, Poythress, and Lee all have had big moments in the tourney prior. Ulis has seen a final four run too.
How many teams hAVE that tourney experience? Duke and Michigan st. That's it.

The bad thing is UK just lost 4 top 50 RPI wins with Alabama and Florida dropping. That is a big deal.

I wouldn't worry about it. UK wins out they should get a three or four seed but lose another game then a five to six is likely.

I've just accepted that we're going to get a 4 seed. We have 8 losses and the teams ahead of us haven't kept losing like we needed. We'll get no respect for winning the SEC and SEC tourney (if we do both). It's still possible for a couple of teams like Duke, Maryland, Utah, Oregon to drop another game or two and fall behind, but I'm not counting on it, I'll be pleasantly surprised if we move up to a 3. Some 1 seed is going to be pissed when they see us ahead of them in the sweet 16. I don't like seeing Purdue projected as a 5-seed, though. Could be a rough matchup if we get them.

Accept this, we'll be disappointed in the seeding and will be in the toughest region again. Nothing we can do about it except tip it up and play our asses off. Bring on the mighty Blue Devils, powerful Hoosiers or the devastating baby Wildcats!

The biggest thing is to get Willis 100% healthy before SEC Tourney and we would have everyone back 100% healthy. Poythress in the BAMA game and now in the Florida game looks like he is back to near 100% healthy. Also, with Willis saying before the TA&M game that his body was beatdown with both knees wrapped and ankle wrapped this two-week plus rest on the ankle and his body should help him throughout the SEC Tourney and NCAA Tourney. We have now a solid healthy team with Ulis, Murray, Briscoe, Willis, Skal, Poy, Lee, Hump, and Hawkins. That will give us 5 bigs that are now near 100% healthy in Lee, Poy, Skal, Hump, and Willis. This will for sure help in our foul situation with our bigs prone to getting in foul trouble. Then again we are now done with the Road games and will be home and then on Neutral Courts after the Saturday game.

Even if USC jr drops 14 spots ........ we'd still have wins over UL, Duke and Vandy which are top 50 RPI teams

Vandy was 52 on Live Rpi after South Carolina loss. Looks like they moved back to 47 now. They are right around 50 though.

I don't know if it is accurate but it looks like we dropped from 11 to 13.
Yes 13 right now.

What hurts more than our RPI is the fact we are now just 3-3 vs top 50 as all the teams we beat keep dropping out of the top 50.

Miami and IU both have 3 losses sub 100. Nobody cares.

UNC is 3-5 vs. top 50. No one cares.

But Kentucky...

I mean, whatever. Worse seed we get, bigger chip Cal will have them playing with. Sorry America.
