There is little doubt who our best pitcher is. So I pose the question to the group. Do we stay the course or do we adjust the rotation? I love Glauber in the role we have him now. Would we be better off moving Glauber to Friday, Decaro to Saturday, and Lynch into Glauber’s roll? Again, this is just a question for discussion amongst the board. Not suggesting we do this.
Out of curiousity, have you listened to Forbes and their mindset/thought process on the rotation? All of the convos he has had with us, but also the postgames?
Not saying what you are suggesting is wrong, but they've pretty much laid out the 'why' things are as they are now.....
Glauber is basically in the Pence 2024 role now....which - and I assume most everyone here watched that season play out and how Dalton was used and how importat he was and as Forbes said "was our best pitcher that season".
DeCaro has struggled with command at times yes...definitely struggled tonight...but his ERA is 2.20 and he's 5-1. ...... if that guy showed up against Carolina with those basic stats, some folks on this board would say Carolina had no chance. And conversely, if someone showed up with higher ERA, we'd hear about how Carolina can't hit and all that noise if Carolina didn't run rule someone.......Lynch is sitting at 4.50.
I think Forbes and his staff from following them closely and watching for years are pretty open to change. I also think they understand that once you start starting Glauber, you lose him for the two other games of the series and that's at play here. Though, the emergence of Jackson Rose could be important x factor in all this.
