After this afternoon's delightful proceedings, Purdue winning wouldn't bother me. Despite being in the Big Ten, Boilers are below Texas on the insufferable, entitled blowhard scale.

At least Big Ten teams battle. So they rarely get 1 or 2 seeds with an easy run to at least the Final 8. Unlike the other conferences, which are totally dominated by 1 or 2 teams who get a 1 or 2 seed every single year.

Tough day for the conference but I've been rooting for them. Why wouldn't I? Nebraska ain't ever leaving the Big 10. Husker football and basketball just have to break out of their perpetual suckage!

You don’t think the Big 12 was a battle?? Baylor, Tech and Texas were all VERY good teams, along with Kansas. Most rugged conference from top to bottom.

If the big ten sucks - then how can we be close if the competitors we are close to aren’t themselves close?

If this theory were true, the Big Ten’s lower seeded teams should perform better than they do. Meaning an 11 seed should be better than or at least as good as a 6 seed.

Michigan did win, but Rutgers lost to another 11 seed and Indiana got run out of the building by a mid-major. Iowa lost to a bad 12 seed, who went on to get smacked by Providence. Wisconsin lost to a middling Big 12 team. Illinois won the conference but in my opinion wasn’t even worthy of a 4 seed.

The league might be slightly deeper than others, but it’s not top heavy, and that has nothing to do with beating up on each other.

Not even remotely true.

besides Nebraska getting alot more holding calls then other teams..going into last year
and the schedule changing every couple years, that always seem to make it harder
I don't have any complaints about the big 10. the new one billion contract and ties to good universities can't hurt.
I would like to see us get aau statues back cause we were it in pretty much as long as everyone else

beside the big 8, I can't think of any other conferance I'd want to be in more...not that the big 12 was terrible I liked playing all them teams even if we wasn't clicking the best sometimes.
the big 10 just seems more stable like the big 8.

for such a tough-minded, physical conference, the B1G's last remaining - and biggest - team is getting pushed around by a bunch of 6'5" prep school kids

love to see it!

each win the big ten has in the tourney leading up to the final four garners Nebraska more money. You are rooting for Nebraska to get less of a payout

NCAA tourney payouts
I couldnt care less. Nebraska joned the B1G for the sole purpose of money. Now they are being made to look like morons. Dipshit TO should have stuck to coaching. He has helped ruin this University.

Oh I absolutely believe that Minnesota and other Big Ten schools' administrations sabotage the football and basketball programs. It's very blatant at Minnesota. Being a Gopher fan is an uphill battle. With many cases of what should have been.

The Big Ten has cost NU millions with their machinations. That pales compared to the pittance we lose because a Big Ten team didn't have B1G refs to help them out in the tourney. If NU wanted a couple hundred thousand more dollars they could fire a few of Frost's cronies.

Wouldn't surprise me if those dirty, rotten, bow-tied scoundrels lobby against your Please-Grade-the-Big-Ten-on-a-Curve plan, where the BIG gets more favorable seeds.

Which they deserve, you know, cuz they battle.

Excellent analogy.

Big 10 has a lot of damn good teams, but lacks the elite.

Only Ohio State in football is elite when all their **** is together.

Regardless, it is still the 2nd best conference only behind the SEC.

The big ten might as well be the ivy league. I don't give a **** about any of the teams, so I don't watch them.

I can't watch big ten sports. Too bland.

Who are the ‘damn good’ teams and where is the proof of them being ‘damn good’?

Ohio state football & marketing budget is the only thing separating the B1G from the MAC, much less our Power conference ‘peers’.

also - maybe google ‘analogy’. I don’t see one in the post you replied to.

To me, our conference being horrendously overmatched every time it plays an actual opponent is a great thing.

Anyone even remotely competent should run laps around the league (especially our laughably pathetic division in football, which boasts ZERO teams who’ve sniffed a modern era national title) in fairly short order.

as my good friend @scarletred likes to accurately say, this is a basketball conference, and we all saw the kinds of records it breaks in that sport (only conference ever with 9 bids all out before the round of 8).

Trev Alberts - Oct 2021

“I'm proud of what Coach Frost and our staff has done. We've got four games in the next five weeks that I think are a great opportunity for us, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them play well against Purdue.”

They went 0-4. We don’t care about winning.

Jlb321 - while I appreciate the jest, I am certainly not suggesting the guys we have in charge are, in fact, remotely competent.
