Fred signed another kid because he knows Roby is gone. All it will take for Roby to sneak in to the 1st round is one GM to like him. Despite some of his critics, he really is a freakish athlete with really good ball skills for his size. It would have been fun to see him play for Hoiberg.

Freakish athlete...Yes. Really good ball skills.... Not quite. He needed another year in college, but good luck to the young man.

The Bucks are looking at him at 30.

If something happens to change that, either the Bulls will take him at 38 or the Kings will grab him midway through the second round.

He's gone.

I'd have to assume, he would be the highest drafted husker ever if he goes. Wish him the best either way, and if he does go, hope he kills it.

He'll do great in all of the testing because he is a freak athletically, but once it comes time to show his playing skill... Downhill spiral begins,

You know what assuming does...

I am happy for him, selfishly wish he was coming back for another year but stoked to see him play in the NBA. Love it if he went to the Bucks.

Just seeing if the Benedict Jayskers are switching back to true Husker fans now that HCFH is here.
I will say, as a jaysker, I am excited for what the future holds for Nebraska. I want BOTH teams to succeed.

I have ZERO ties to either school, I just enjoy competitive basketball, football, and vollleyball.

Of course, for Volleyball, I couldn’t tell you a single name associated with a program outside of Nebraska.

I’m only a Jaysker in basketball, and I live in Omaha, and their games are fun.

Your expectations for ball skills from a 6-9 player are unrealistic. He can put it on the floor and get to the rim. He can bring the ball up the court against pressure. Obviously he isn't going to do that against an NBA point or off guard, but I've played pick up ball against guys who played the 4 in the NBA and overseas and Roby has a much better handle than they did. IMO though his sheer athletic ability and defense is what will get him on a roster.

Ignore him, that was second attempt at taking a jab at Roby. No clue why he does like Roby but he apparently doesn’t. Roby has a high ceiling and still has room to grow “skill wise”. I think he will do good in the NBA. He hasn’t hit his max potential yet, not even close.

I guess we will see. I don’t see it and he’ll probably end up in Europe. I don’t think he’s an NBA player at this point. Part of his problem as probably Tim Miles. No one ever got better under him and it probably hampered his development.

Brotha....he’s about to get drafted. He will be on an a NBA team. It doesn’t matter how you feel about him. I’m seeing 2nd round with a possibility of moving into the 1st round. He will be on a NBA team, period.

I was with you until you praised his defense. It was awful. He couldn't keep his guy in front of him, always side saddle and go away with because he could block with his length. Of course, just my opinion.

The real question is, is that a matter of ability or rather was that strategy. I don't know if it would be all that effective for Roby to just stay infront of his guy and just shoot his hands up to effect shots. Yeah he has a long wingspan but if you do that, you aren't utilizing his athelticism. If he tries to block the shot in that position, he is going to get called for a foul 95% of the time because the shooter is going to go up into his body.

Secondly, you need to look at other aspects of his defense. It seemed like Roby had some of the more active hands on the team, getting steals, intercepting or deflecting passes, getting rebounds... I think anyone would have a hard time believing he is awful at defense especially considering he was doing all that while playing out of position as well.

I didn’t reply to you toolbox. Drafted doesn’t mean you make a team. You see a lot of things and not a lot are correct

Drafted in the 2nd round is not a great deal to be sure. It allows a team to tie up your rights and maybe place you overseas. A friend's kid had to beg the team he signed with as a 2nd rounder to release him after 3-4 years so he could go play in Europe with the team he wanted to play with. He was stuck in Turkey for a while. That said, Roby is a much better player than that kid is and I think he'll make a roster. JMHO. He's a good kid and I hope he has success.

Sleeper in this draft, if he develops a consistent 3 pt shot, watch out NBA

I know I have said I didn’t think he was ready, but that was because he didn’t take charge. He had the most talent on the team, and was the 4th option for most of the year.

So, sounds like Roby is finally realizing he has the talent, and isnt being timid. Good for him. Still think he would benefit coming back, but it ain’t happening.

He could move from a early to mid 2nd rounder, to a solid 1st rounder. That said, he needs to get his and do what is best for him.
