I see people debating Dillingham vs Wagner. Both are excellent in their own way. The great white shark of the team will be Ian Jackson if he reclassifies and comes to UK

Don't know enough about him or Wagner, but just glad we got one of them. Assuming Wagner goes to UL, what about his teammate we are after? Any talk that they are a package deal?

The high school 3 pt. distance is about 3 feet closer than college, but do you know which player is the better 3 pt. high school shooter?
I can’t find the 3 pt percentage for Rob but Wagner is shooting 35% from 3 in EYBL. For some reason they didn’t show all of Rob stats .

If I had to guess Rob 3 pt percentage is around 35% too .

Well, Collins had those same hormones and he’s a stick. Lol. It’s rough gaining good weight when your young. Weight period really.
Might be right just some times the man hormones kick in and you bulk up. For me at 19 I gained 20 lbs and my mom thought I lost weight. Manhood kicking in!! Lol

Hey, over at KSR they've reported some more information on Dillingham. They listed Dillingham's 3pt. percentage as 38.4% (that's at the high school distance, of course).

I think Dilly is better on offense. Maybe not by much but splitting hairs here. Wagner is bigger but he’s not necessarily some lock down defender either.
This kid should not reclassify. He's 165 lbs.
The thing he needs to work on is this
"He’s small, thin, struggles at times defensively and isn’t a superb athlete. In terms of offensive production and entertainment value, though, you won’t find a better guard than Dillingham. He’s a living, breathing highlight real who becomes must-see TV "

I would rather have him in a college S&C program for 2 years than not.

I know it. Makes me sick. Still holding out hope(small amount, ish happens right?).

I just think it’s dirty to do Cal like that regarding the Wagner family but I realize it’s recruiting. Hell, Cal probably gave him his blsssing to go to UL.
I like what Dillingham said here :

No matter how the Wagner saga unfolds, Kentucky’s success at the guard position in 2023-24 is no longer reliant on his addition with Dillingham announcing his commitment. And despite Louisville trending for Wagner, that’s not to say the two players are mutually exclusive, either — if you ask Dillingham, at least.

“For sure (I’d play with DJ),” he said. “I feel like I’m an unselfish player and can play with anyone, adapt to how they play. He’s a bucket just like me. … He’s a great player for sure. Me and him together, we’re both playmakers, we could play off each other.”

Yep. I think Dillingham is definitely quicker and has better burst of speed. Not as physical as Wagner but I think Dilly has an innate ability to create space and get a shot.

Yep. He is saying and has been saying all right things. He actually wants to win, in college. He knows it can go hand in hand with his draft stock.

Would love to see Wagner come and play with him. That would be two great guards to have together. I still think there is a good chance Wagner ends up at UK.

Learn as much as you can about his Felon mentor.

When the news drops next spring that he will be heading to one of his professional basketball options, don't take your anger out on Rob. He's a great kid. He just has a terrible person as a mentor. He does what his mentor tells him bc he naively believes that guy has Rob's best interests at heart.
I trust that Calipari isn’t going to be burned again by these kind of shenanigans. If the scenario that you’re talking about plays out then I look for Calipari to hang it up at UK. But I have faith in the coaching staff to do their homework in making sure this doesn’t happen again.

Your first stance here was that Rob wouldn’t be playing college ball because he wouldn’t be eligible. Now it’s shifted to that his mentor just wants him to commit for attention (?) and then for him to go pro. You are all over the place and have no clue what you are talking about, as much as you want others to believe otherwise

I’ve only seen a few highlights of Dillingham, but I’ve noticed he’s quick, twitchy, good hesi, very quick crossover. Seems to finish well at the rim too, which is a must.

Having a PG who can’t hit layups is a back breaker. Hagans/Askew are two examples of that. I always liked Isaiah Briscoe for his ability to hit tough layups when he didn’t see on the baseline 😅

Briscoe was good for layups. But if he had to actually shoot it? Oh Lort.

Nerlens Noel, Isaac Humphries, Ashton Hagans, Johnny Juzang, and Terrence Clarke all re-classified. They were all 18 and joining their original classes, unlike Dillingham.

Also Tai Wynyard (only to redshirt) and Hamidou Diallo (only to redshirt)
Though he never played at UK, Andrew Wiggins was no slouch.

The only debacle I saw last night was tyty almost falling into 2nd round. He lost a lot of money by turning pro one year too early. As far as Dillingham, love the kid's game after watching him in orlando a few months back. My UK buddies, not easily pleased, agreed.
I saw where one scout said he was Tyler Ulis except he was 6’2 . Would you agree with that assessment?

That is a fair comparison in that both can get to any spot on the floor when they want. Ulis was so small that his center of gravity was really low, so even harder for defenders to get to the ball. I compare RD to Jason Williams from Florida as far as flair. About every 5 minutes there is a holy sh** moment where you look at the guy next to you and ask if he saw that. He'll have a ton of highlight moments. Not to say RD is perfect, I saw several times where he would dribble into double teams and was not always able to get out of them. But that is the thing though, teams will have to throw a second player or shade him to slow RD down, so it is up to our coaches/players to take advantage of that. I've seen people point out his low weight, and while I agree he needs to get stronger, he doesn't play as if it is a problem. Many times he would drive against bigger players, double teams, etc, and it did not phase him. The main thing teams were trying to do was cut off his dribbling and penetration and it was almost impossible to do.

I was wrong. The 38.4% was in EYBL and for those games they apparently use the college 3pt. distance. So, that's some more good news.
