Late in the game Eagles are wininning. Basically all they had to do was take 3 clean snaps
Butkus comes up in the A gap 3 times and yells at Snead who was easily intimidated
Finally on third down Butkus jumps over the center, Snead ***** the bed, bears recover Sneads fumble drive the ball for a TD and win the game SMH

I am watching the Bears/Commanders game, it's almost halftime and I haven't heard 1 mention of Dick Butkus passing. Maybe I missed something very earlier (I don't think so). I don't get it. How can they not talk about one of the all time greats when the Bears are playing?

Today's broadcasters don't give a hoot about the sports Legends. Remember what the NFL Network did during the Franco Harris tribute....went to commercial. The networks are a bunch of whores.

Was discussing his life and passing with my oldest who remarked. "there is only one man who could get away with the name Dick Butkus, and that was Dick Butkus."

Loved to watch him play. He gave the fans, whether rooting for the Bears or not, their money's worth. RIP, though somehow I find it difficult imagining Dick Butkus resting or doing anything in peace.

Viscous, viscous player. When I played freshman football I wanted to wear #58 in honor of Jack Lambert (I was an inside linebacker). It was already taken (because of the Giants Carl Banks) so my next choice was #51 for Butkus. Sad that he’s gone, but I loved watching his highlights.

Sam Huff, Ray Nietschke (sorry for the misspelling), Myron Pottios, Mike Lucci and the best of them all ... Dick Butkus.

He defined the Chicago Bears.

His highlights are always amazing - different game back then when even the officials expected players to pull helmets off, twist body parts, punch someone in a pile and basically try to remove someone from a game. "All right break it up, quit the shenanigans or I'll penalize ya!" was basically officiating unless you went offsides.
