Agree, it should come down right after a couple come down at UNC. The NCAA should never try to punish anyone until they deal with the UNC mess and any school that the NCAA tries to sanction should file suit or seek an injunction to delay action till UNC is resolved.

A rival coach's banner should never hang in Rupp Arena. It's an insult to UK fans and the tradition.

We have the right to stand up for what we believe in. Rick Pitino has worked to undermine the university ever since he took the UL job. Any accomplishments he had here are not worth the stigma of associating with that piece of excrement. The banner needs to come down.
He has 1 amazing player in lee and 2 other very good players in Onuaku and Lewis . That is it though Mitchell will be a good one like Matthews eventually. Snider is just not a good player and don't make me mention any of the other UL bigs as they suck.

I never thought I would ever post on here, but after my granddaughter taught me some computer skills, here I am. Just never thought my first post would be about Rick Pitino.
I have a business that has me on or around the UL campus everyday. I wear my UK hats/shirts with pride.
I know and have seen many things that could bring scrutiny I guess if I told all. At my age, I bleed blue but enjoy the color gr$$n too. It business, but I have to hear all kinds of crap from these people and to know the lies they spread and misguidedness of the facts they tell is BS.
I am torn on the banner issue. I see Rick Pitino as the man, coach who was run out of town, New York, and landed in Lexington at a program who was having issues as was Rick.
I have always looked at it like two people coming out of a bad marriage and meet up and both are good for one another. UK did as much for Rick Pitino as Rick Pitino did for UK.
As a old timer I have seen the good and bad at UK; but I can name no school who doesn't go through tough times. Its life.
The thing about UK I truly love is, even in the tough times, they handle it with class.
Rick Pitino did great things while at UK. Cant take that from him. He earned it.
Going to our arch rival was a kick in the balls to me. He could have went to Michigan or UCLA then, but he chose to UL. By doing so, he knew many UK fans would not ever except this.
Coach K would never go to UNC; Bob Knight would never go to Purdue; Dean Smith never to NCST or Duke; Joe B never to UL; the list goes on and on. Anywhere but UL Rick.
For that, he can rot in the hell hole he is in.
45 years ago my then wife gave birth to my son. We divorced a few years later and she turned into a monster. For the sake of my son, I give her the respect she earned being the mother of my son, but if she dropped dead today, I could care less.
Moral is, Rick can drop dead and life will go on. He is no longer in the family.
If something happened to say, Joe B., I would be saddened.

I agree with most of what he said except for Kentucky being better by only a thin margin. I think Kentucky is alot better and it showed by how we controlled the whole game and he's forgetting that we were missing one of our best players.
Rose hated losing but gambling let to his demise and those questioning his integrity. Nothing else. The biggest difference between the 3 was his legacy was built playing the game, not coaching it.

Actually it was worse than that. I can recall off the top of my head at least 3 times when Murray tried what will show up in the box score as a "shot attempt" but had absolutely zer chance of going in. Those were closer to turnovers than missed field goals - each led to a break going the other way....
One has to wonder how much longer the fans will back Pitino, he can't beat the schools biggest rival, the smooth talk can only take you so far, plus all of the other stuff going on. He is starting to crack, his appearance along with his antics say he can't stand it anymore, the end is near.
It's December 27th and they are 0-2 against P5 programs. We had them down 16 in the second half without Briscoe. I'm going to reserve judgement on how good they are until I see them win some games against real competition.

Pitino's personality has even changed, since he went to louisville he has been seen with a line beard and even gotten a tattoo and now the program has been involved with hookers, wow, talk about culture shock, this man is losing it. People yelling things or not you don't do what he did yesterday, are you telling me UK fans get to him more than Bostons fans did, it wouldn't bother me if they took it down, he let the fans know where he stands.

No, you're flogging a technicality in order to be reductive about Rick pitino's contribution to all his wins and the 96 championship, a ploy I highly doubt would be so readily administered in any context when speaking of Coach Cal because naturally your acrimony is too consumed by the immediate "Sore" of a former UK coach helming the flagship athletic team of its historical and perennial antithesis.
Rick Pitino recruited those players, he coached those players instilling within them fundamental principles that served as the foundation for their future careers. He conditioned those players into cardio stressing, full court pressing behemoths who brought the unrelenting hammer down on teams at times. He championed the three point shot better than most during the first year it was implemented at the college level thereby forging a legacy(that admittedly is somewhat diminished with the way his teams play now) of high scoring dynamic offense.
Even attempting to perpetrate the notion that his coaching only played a minor part in his illustrious career at the University of Kentucky is illogical diatribe at its finest.
