Rick Barnes to UCLA?

[ukhoops1_rivals58511]

[CELTICAT]

Lol

[slushpump]

WOW!

[UKWildcatT]

Would be a ridiculous move

[Blueblood410]

Title needs to be edited.

[catman15]

Got him before he could even take his name out of it

[playmorezeppelin_rivals181042]

I'm not sure who would get the worst end of that deal.

[TigerMoving]

Lol that would be perfect

[bballcat4]

RB will get a pay raise and new contract at UT.

How many new contracts can UCLA create for college coaches?

[Xception]

So Tennessee’s greatest team ever didn’t win the regular season sec title or the sec tournament, they didn’t even make the elite 8 and they’ll probably lose their coach.

[bluedog79]

Good post! The old Texas longhorns Rick barnes withdrawal notice haha!!
He ain't going nowhere. Rick Barnes don't leave this early but it is time to pay Rick. This is the game you play with Barnesy Big Bucks.$ You pay him more when he peaks and then he starts to slowly degrade!
[roll] Fun times ahead Orange Lovers![roll]

[ukgrad2004]

Ucla is about to take its name out of consideration for being good lol.

So far 3.

[bballcat4]

UCLA is good for the economy. They’ll cause the stock market to be up in the morning ;- )

[caneintally]

horrible thread title .

[Cats192]

I know everyone likes to joke about it, but this may actually be the best move they can make.

[akaukswoosh]

Texas says, take Shaka.

[FiveStarCat]

Great title OP.

[MakinMusic_rivals]

He’s not dumb enough to take that job. Guaranteed that he is no real interest. It’s simply sticking it to TN to get a raise. Not to mention he has been the king for a decade at getting his name out there even though no one contacted him.

[HerrosHeroes]

Thought Dixon was a done deal?

[Cats192]

Thought Dixon was a done deal?

TCU would not come down on the buyout price, and UCLA refuse to pay it.

[fabcat]

It would be best for Tennessee to keep Barnes. I can't believe UCLA is having this much trouble getting a quality coach. There must be things going on there that is keeping good coaches away. Sure the money mY not be great but it's still good money. UCLA still has the most championships and is a national name in basketball.

[Cats192]

Ideally, a supposedly blueblood program would get a hot young coach.

I’m surprised they Don’t make a serious run at Beard and or Bennett. That said, I don’t think either of them would take the job at this point.

[willyclyde]

UCLA about to get everybody a raise.

I completely understand why they are struggling to find a coach. It’s a depressed program. Hasn’t really been relevant in decades. No one wants to put up with their fan base. No one wants to live in crazy California. The people and taxes are insane. Not to mention LA is just a bad place to live for quality of life.

[BigRedMachineBigBlueNation]

Free Raise University. I would feel bad for any other program.

From what I have read/heard, the Admin are incompetent, jerks, or both.

[rick64]

Sounds like Barnes looking for raise.

Thanks Cats. You have always been one of my favs.

this. his personality absolutely does not fit la. he would be completely overshadowed and probably be happy with that, but that’s not how to shine at ucla. they needed a big name coach at the turn of the century and got howland. they needed a pitino or someone with the ego to pretend to be the big act in town. at that point at least it was because they weren’t willing to pay. if they ever figure it out they could be dominant again. thank goodness it probably won’t happen.

[turkeywildturkey]

No way he goes to UCLA. No way.

[Tapemaster8]

They need to hire Luke Walton with Levar Ball as the associate head coach!

I was wondering what caused the deal with Dixon to fall through. I live in the DFW area and heard little about the details.

[seccats04]

I like to make fun of Barnes as much as the next guy but he is 4-2 against Cal the last two years. Guess how many 5 stars UT had in that time?

[CB3UK]

Barnes is a Southerner. Cant imagine him wanting to move to Los Angeles and deal with that mess.

You have the order wrong.

[FratKat]

Won't happen. A move to UCLA would require Rick to replace the orange ties he's been able to use at Clemson, Texas and Tennessee.

[BigBlueFanGA]

I thought he had removed his name from consideration.
