RB has made UT relevant in basketball and he’s putting butts in seats.

He’s not going to UCLA, but this will make UT pay RB what he’s earned. UT is worth whatever raise he gets. He’s earned it.
I’m not saying he’s not a good coach but I remember a whole lot of early flame out’s in the NCAA tournament while he was at Texas.

UCLA has contracts with every coach that they approach as a candidate. When the school pays those coaches extra to stay put, they pay a percentage to UCLA. It is a profitable venue. Coaches get richer, and UCLA gets richer. they came up the formula that can't fail.

No wonder California taxes are so high!

I know, I know the running joke about Barnes. But I've heard this from 2 UT friends. They think he will accept if offered

There is a tweet that he’s upset with fulmer not investing in basketball, and holly warlick would take the job as the men’s head coach

Yes I believe Peatl had them #1 in the country while he was there. Not sure how old you are but they were a thorn in our side during the Ray Mears years.

Were they even relevant this season? I mean sweet sixteen last year a first weekend flame out. Yeah I know all about Uts success vs Kentucky but not on the national stage

Or just use it for pay raise from UT? I tink he will be gone and would be stupid not to take it. He will get a shot a coaching a blue blood an opportunity that all coaches is the college game strive for. To be the head man at one of the following (UK,DUKE,UCLA,KU,UNC). UT will surely loose Williams without a doubt if that happens. They will be under another rebuild. Hope they enjoyed their run and get those sweet 16 T's before they are sold out and become a relic. I will be using one to check my oil clean off my dip stick in about 6-7 years.

I know Tennessee fans hate this thought, but how can you turn down a gig like UCLA when the offer comes? It's the same thing as those Memphis fans who got so angry at Calipari leaving for UK. But how can you blame him? These jobs only come open every so often. They are usually filled by someone for 10+ seasons. Turnover is rare. So, when they come calling, you have to seriously consider it and you may have to take the leap. Tennessee fans will be nasty about it if he does leave, though. As we saw from their behavior this season, it will get ugly.

Even though it's been down I still consider it a Blue blood program. All coaches in the sport strive to be able to get a chance at coaching one of (UK, UCLA, DUKE, UNC, KU). I don't care what they say. I think he is gone with a chance to coach at a blue blood. They will find out after about 2-3 flames out in second weekend will not cut it. I say the over under on him lasting @UCLA will be 4. With back to back years loosing in 2ND weekend or earlier.

Yup I say the over under of years on his tenure there will be around 4 years. They will not accept early exits in March like he is known for. I say he takes it just a shot at a Blue Blood one of the pennicall pprograms of the sport even though they have been down. I still consider them over IU which I no longer consider a blue blood.

Yup even though they have been down they are still a blue blood. There are 5 jobs IMO that are the best 5 in the nation and all coaches want to land at one of them oneday. (UK, DUKE, UNC, UCLA, KU). he will not turn it down if offered the gig. He might not get another chance at one of those 5 schools ever again.

I actually think Barnes would be a good get for UCLA at this time. The Bruins have now missed on their top candidates, and they are going to be on about Plan F, if they can't land Barnes.

Barnes will get a raise and stay on Rocky Top.
I know one guy I bet UCLA could get cheap and yes, his name is Pitino....as in Richard.
Would that be an episode of the Twilight Zone or what? Tricky Ricky in exile and son Dick takes the UCLA job ....sign me up for that!

At this point, think UCLA will be estate to make the ncaa. He can rule the pac12 and use his tx and SW contacts to recruit.
He is perfect for Hollywood with all the acting drills he has his players do...

Ricks going to retire on the West coast and keep UCLA from adding to their lead over us. TN slips back into the depths of the SEC. Sounds like a win-win.

Some TN people think Fullmer's crapping on other sports trying to boost football. If that's true RB could haul.
