You were honest with your anti-Pikiell tirades ?I never understood why some fans get mad when other fans are honest. Mama plum taught me honesty is best policy
Which? I don’t remember going on many tirades . Maybe here or there but I never said fire pike. I always thought he was doing a good job , but jury was still out for a while . I certainly didn’t kill him with losses to houston or Notre dame. Would love to see what you’re referencingYou were honest with your anti-Pikiell tirades ?
Boozer a good one but Larry Johnson was an explosive beast when he came out of college. Would have to be Larry Johnson with Type 2 Diabetes.I think the closest "style of play" comparison for RHJ is a poor man's Carlos Boozer or a very poor man's Larry Johnson.
Carlos Boozer didn't shoot threes so that's one big difference between him and Ron...(He took a total of one 3 point shot in his 3 year college career at Duke (0-1).. Then, in the NBA, he averaged 16.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game over his 13 year career while averaging over 31 minutes per game... During those 13 years he shot 51.2% overall from the field, but took only 14 three point shots, missing 13 of them = 7.1%)I think the closest "style of play" comparison for RHJ is a poor man's Carlos Boozer or a very poor man's Larry Johnson.
His dad and his buddies can’t and won’t do **** to keep Ron around. Are you people that clueless ?
Cmon the guy won’t have any meaningful careeer in the NBA. The hope is some of his dad’s buddies around the league can keep him around on the fringes to collect enough contract $$.
Plum knows
It never happens in regard to roster spots…..ever!!!Obviously people do here . Nothing wrong with his old man calling in some favors . It happens.
I think the closest "style of play" comparison for RHJ is a poor man's Carlos Boozer or a very poor man's Larry Johnson.
If you want me to say Glen Rice, he needs to lose 40 pounds, play better defense on the perimeter and shoot better. Right now he's just a wide body who cant guard the backcourt.lol, Carlos Boozer???
Didn’t I already say thatHarper isn't on the Raptors due to a favor for Harper Sr loll
Who exactly in the Raptors front office owes Harper Sr a favor?
Yeah...just a terrible take by PlumHis dad and his buddies can’t and won’t do **** to keep Ron around.
Ron has to make Toronto’s roster all on his own
If you want me to say Glen Rice, he needs to lose 40 pounds, play better defense on the perimeter and shoot better. Right now he's just a wide body who cant guard the backcourt.
I am not light! Do remember him hitting big shots.
There must be a good ‘90s 3/4 that is a good comparison!
thought about Chris Morris, but that is an insult
Clarence Weatherspoon from old 76ers team? I don't remember how tall he was would have to look up
She sounds like a lovely woman.I never understood why some fans get mad when other fans are honest. Mama plum taught me honesty is best policy
In this particular instance, it’s just plain cluelessness and absolutely no idea of the absurdity of his claim. She sounds like a lovely woman.
I think it’s okay to be honest but this is just your misguided opinion and you have said it many times. That’s not honesty that’s douchery.
Ok, so do you think Harper jr has a long and solid nba career ?It never happens in regard to roster spots…..ever!!!
You want to talk G league, front office, coaching…..absolutely
Ok so would love to hear your prediction on harper’s career. It seems like you don’t think he will hang around the league ?In this particular instance, it’s just plain cluelessness and absolutely no idea of the absurdity of his claim.
I’m referring solely to the topic of roster spots at the highest level of professional sports
I don’t pretend to know a damn thing,Ok so would love to hear your prediction on harper’s career. It seems like you don’t think he will hang around the league ?
No idea.Ok, so do you think Harper jr has a long and solid nba career ?
No idea ? Did you follow his rutgers career ? Or you don’t follow the NBA ?No idea.
Rooting hard for him….
Daddy, the owner of the team, or the President of the United States can’t and won’t help him
This is a different conversation. No idea ? Did you follow his rutgers career ? Or you don’t follow the NBA ?
Ok we will see.Yeah...just a terrible take by Plum
One of many poor takes, btw...
Ok .This is a different conversation.
My Rutgers fanaticism or whether I follow the NBA is irrelevant.
I’m simply responding to the absurd notion his dad can call in a favor and keep Ron “around”
Its demeaning towards Ron and a completely ludicrous false statement.
We will see what? You're gonna show some proof that RHJ is getting a look/pref treatment/roster spot based on a favor called in by RH Sr.???Ok we will see.
Nobody is debating with you how long he will be around the nba. It's around this ridiculous claim youre doubling down on that the only reason he's getting a look is because of his dad.Ok .
This is what I exactly posted ….”the guy won’t have any meaningful careeer in the NBA. The hope is some of his dad’s buddies around the league can keep him around on the fringes to collect enough contract $$.”
I said it was hope and now you say it can’t and won’t happen because you are saying my take is wrong and no one would keep him around based on a connection.
I Thank you for your clarity on this subject.
So I am asking if you think he will stick around then based on merit ?
I never said that. I posted it was a “hope” he can hang around the league that way . And thankfully @zappaa gave me some insight on this issue with his knowledge of how NBA front office’s work.Nobody is debating with you how long he will be around the nba. It's around this ridiculous claim youre doubling down on that the only reason he's getting a look is because of his dad.
We will see if RHJ has a meaningful NBA career or not . That was the whole point of my original post . But everyone took up and ran with second part of my post was hoping he can stay around the league based on his family connections .We will see what? You're gonna show some proof that RHJ is getting a look/pref treatment/roster spot based on a favor called in by RH Sr.???
Yes, I'm well aware. You just described what RHJ will be in the NBA at his current weight. Sure, he'll shoot more 3 pointers, but that's because everyone shoots more 3 pointers in today's NBA.do you realize that Boozer was a 6’9” big man that barely ever took a 3 in his life and never had any ball handling responsibility whatsoever? they are not even remotely comparable
Your statement was pretty damning of RHJ.Ok .

Other than the play, how was your evening Mrs. Lincoln...But everyone took up and ran with second part of my post was hoping he can stay around the league based on his family connections . ..
It wasn’t “damning”. It was a prediction about professional sports . Do we have to treat sports predictions with kid gloves and sugarcoat them?Your statement was pretty damning of RHJ.
“The kid won’t have any meaningful career”
The second statement revolving around what the “ hope is” was ludicrous and I’m glad you realize it.
Now I will answer your question:
Ron is a gifted kid with a lot of basketball gifts, playing with better/elite players will always make you better.
It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he was able to take the talents he has to another level and be a productive NBA player.
Unfortunately, it also wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t make the jump and gets cut.
In other words, I have no clue.!
I admittedly thought Pacheco’s running style wouldn’t adapt to the NFL, looks like I was obviously incorrect.
I’m hoping you’re wrong about Ron and I’m sure you are as well…I know you’d like to see him succeed
What many poor takes?Yeah...just a terrible take by Plum
One of many poor takes, btw...
I think of Harper as Shawn Marion with a less hideous shooting motionChris Morris was 6’8” 210” and much more athletic. There’s a reason he was picked #4 overall.
Harper’s game is somewhat reminiscent of Cedric Ceballos or Dan Majerle. They were 6’6” scorers that were primarily wing players, and could mix it up but not with the same level of aggressiveness of Anthony Mason’s or Ron Artests of the world.
They are players that likely would not have been as effective in an offensive scheme setup for 1:1 play, so motion offense and open style of play the Suns was well-suited for guys who were skilled and let the game come to them, similar to how Ron plays.
Weatherspoon was 6’6” 240- same as Harper- but he never shot 3’s.
RHJ is exactly who the G league is for; if he can either change his body or develop his outside shot, it’s possible he could find a role in the NBA with the right team.
Sounds like this one hits a little close to home for you? I don’t disagree with you of course. Ron will make it or not on his own. This is a different conversation.
My Rutgers fanaticism or whether I follow the NBA is irrelevant.

Current weight? When was the last time you saw Harper?Yes, I'm well aware. You just described what RHJ will be in the NBA at his current weight. Sure, he'll shoot more 3 pointers, but that's because everyone shoots more 3 pointers in today's NBA.
