He’s in horrible physical shapeRU had a 66-54 lead with 10 and change after a missed UMass 3, Ron rebounds dribbles up, no one around him and not even set chucks an ugly 3 5 seconds into the shot clock.
Those are the kind of hero ball plays that cost you the game. His defens was poor, At 72-57 with 8 and change and a chance to put the dagger in, he fouls with his body, he blew an easy layup at 74-64, then missed a 3 at 77-73 and then fouled predictably at 81-78...very poor last 10 minutes for him
Funny you say that..I watched the game with an old friend of mine who knows basketball like the back of his hand but has been away from the NJ basketball scene for a few years and hasn’t been following much. He couldn’t believe that Harper was still in the same shape as 3 years ago. He thought by now he would have taken his future in basketball more seriously. I I did too. And don’t give me that crap that that’s his body type. It’s true he will never be ripped like Omoruyi but he is clearly out of shape and appears slower than ever. He’s in horrible physical shape
Until someone told me he had a back problem I thought watching the game Vs Lafayette he was either sick or high. He was that out of it.Ron’s jogging up court is lumbering.. he can’t elevate much and it’s probably the lower back issue. But why not just come out and say it? To me he’s just not in great shape. I was expecting to see a new and improved RHJ. His first half was good however… puzzling
Not easy playing D-1 hoops when you appear to be 7 months pregnant.Until someone told me he had a back problem I thought watching the game Vs Lafayette he was either sick or high. He was that out of it.
knowing he has a back issue it appeared very obvious. Then I saw him holding his back and then I knew it was 100%
Agree 100%. I do not doubt RHJ is hurting and that can explain his very subpar performances the last couple of games. Combined with Baker out yesterday and late in game v. Lafayette probably cost us both games...but we should still have enough horses to win games against these teams.he shouldnt be playing against the likes of Lafayette or Umass if it is effecting him so much. You play Hyatt and Jones more....that an injured Harper played 32 while Hyatt rode pine makes zero sense...ditto for Miller receiving zero time all year long
Watch the second half closely when we have time outs and watch Harper, it's very apparent his back is killing me. Put Pike's lousy recruiting has no one to replace him.Actually, we know he has a bad back because he gets treatment every time he comes out. You are not being fair Bac. He is playing hurt because we have no one better, which is an indictment of Pike’s recruiting.
We should be able to beat Lehigh and Lafayette without Harper and Geo in the lineup.Agree 100%. I do not doubt RHJ is hurting and that can explain his very subpar performances the last couple of games. Combined with Baker out yesterday and late in game v. Lafayette probably cost us both games...but we should still have enough horses to win games against these teams.
He is NOT playing out of shape. He is playing HURT, trying to do what he can for his team. Many of us are suprised Harper has never gotten into anywhere near great shape since being here.

Hey Loyal,He is NOT playing out of shape. He is playing HURT, trying to do what he can for his team.
Fans should be giving him credit for doing that, because it is not easy to play with constant pain.
Of course many of the critics would not know anything about that, because your main exercise is getting up off the couch to get another bottle of beer.
IMO it is OK to be upset with the current state of the program, but explain why it is necessary to throw everyone in sight under the bus. Does that make people feel better?
