So you hold no opinion of President Trump?
To the larger conversation:
I actually agree with that standard (underlined). We should judge...or evaluate, rather...people by what they say and whether their actions match their words. That's precisely why I brought up Trump's documented conduct. His own words (Access Hollywood), his public behavior, the civil jury verdict, the felony convictions, and his admitted infidelity all inform my opinion.
So we're really not using different standards. We simply reach different conclusions when we apply them.
Heck, I'd even take it a step further that maybe, like Riveting, you recognize he's not a good person, but prefer his policies.
Let me say I prefer NOT TO JUDGE HIM by what people say or some ot these so called court cases as if you look back through history there are lots of people with very tainted pasts that do wonders and miracles for society later in life
I personally would say that Trump has a lot of negative qualities that I don’t like but he also has a lot of positive qualities I like.
There was a politician a few years back that feuded with Trump Senator John McCain
I thought that much of what Trump said about Senator MCCain was out of line and a lot even true should have been unsaid out of respect for Senator McCains military service.
Then there was the 2016 Republican presidential campaign where Trump mocked Ted Cruz’s wife and I thought that way out of line.
Then there was feuding between Senator Lindsay Graham and Trump where they were at each others throats verbally.
I always thought was this necessary.
Now in life at some point you learn to compromise and especially in politics you learn yesterdays enemy is today’s friend. The enemy of my enemy is my friend deal.
Let’s say you and I disagree on a subject. That may be true but we don’t need to poison our entire relationship so we cannot ever agree and get something accomplished.
Politics is a dirty business with people fighting for the top of the hill. Smart folks learn how to climb as high as possible.
I have served in elected office and left after a few years which I was very productive.
The biggest problem I had was coming home to my wife who thought running a government organization was magic and a magic wand. Just like people feud on here the employees and other elected people feud because it seems everybody wants it there way.
Regarding my wife that was the main reason I left elected office voluntary as she was always telling me how I was wrong about everything.
My last statement on that is if you know so much run for public office and do it all yourself. Needless to say she would not run as running for office can be very humiliating as you find out what people think about you.
