Wow. This guy would be another big get. I still want Cremo more though, think adding another shooter will be more important than another bulky inside guy. This guy would be very similar to Zion, without the vertical, but I'd of course take him.

Based on available scholarships for next season, we’d have enough room for both of them because if you don’t include Justin Robinson as a scholarship player next season then we’ll have 3 available scholarships but if you include him as a scholarship player next season then we’ll still have 2 available scholarships next season.

I'm willing to bet that Justin Robinson has the financial means to cover a years worth of Duke tuition, just a hunch though.

Yeah, if I’m correct they’ve probably already paid for at least one year since he’s been at Duke because he came to Duke as a prefer

Is the idea of Carter staying even a thing? Or is it just wishful thinking, similar to what was going around when people were saying Kyrie would come back another year, or Jabari was going to come back..

I see no scenario where Carter comes back.. the kid is a late lottery pick at the absolute worst..

He’ll go in the top 7. 3-7

The best I’ve seen him amongst many mock drafts is 8. He is 8-14 among 8 different mock drafts. Espn has him #6, but they don’t do mocks.

The only explanation I have for him staying is this draft is VERY big-man heavy, the top 6 are all PF or C, Carter (not saying I agree) happens to be the 7th ranked big. Combine all that with the Nba values shooters over bigs, than yeah I see a scenario where Carter goes like 15th.
Next years draft is very guard/wing heavy. Carter would be one of the top bigs, him and Bol Bol.

Didn’t we recruit him like back in 13 or something?

Came down to us, Stanford and Minnesota presumably. Duke got in a little “late” but made a decent push. This would be a nice get and also would give us an idea of what the staff feels about our potential depth in the front court.

Do we think Bolden might bounce? I really like Travis but I just feel like Vrank and Bolden have earned playing time this year. Would Reid be that big of upgrade for what we’ll need out of our 5s for next year?

Reid Travis is a really polished low-post player. He's light years of ahead of Vrank and at this stage, a more capable player and scorer. Travis is a throwback.

Doncic is a point guard and wing player

I think Reid would be a pretty good upgrade. And I absolutely want him to stay away and for Bolden to get his turn. But he has to take advantage of it.

^ what makes you think he's interested in Duke now? Yes, Duke recruited him 4 years ago but I have seen nothing saying he either wants to be a grad transfer (leave Stanford) or wanting to attend Duke.

Reid Travis has been at Stanford for 4 years (medical redshirt in his second season). In those 4 years, Stanford has 0 NCAA Tournament appearances and just 2 NIT Bids. I'm guessing Travis wouldn't mind playing for a winning program.

Big vfrank showed signs, like of improvement , but the problem is his signs were a lay up lol .(not exactly) but example would be like......the movie Little Big League. A baseball movie. When the team gets too excited over a base hit by a guy that’s been struggling , and then the team says “don’t you think that’s a little wierd and a problem?” and the kid manager had to cut the guy. His favorite player.. Can’t remember exactly but yea. We don’t cut. We just don’t play ! Lmao. Not exactly the same circumstances at all . Bad example and nobody probally knows what the hell im talking about as usuall . I do actually think our bench deserved more mintutes though. Alex Justin Goldwire Vfrank . In that order, but how with the talent we had? I wish they did (now). who am I though

Not to mention the final 4 is in Minneapolis. His hometown

Jim sumner compared the two the best. We hope that Vrank can make some contribution as a Sr but to think he's as talented as Zoubs is hard to do. I'm hopeful Vrank can make contributions and have a nice Sr year

They’re both big burley white guys. People forget Zoubek was a 5* recruit.

Vrank seems to be a good guy, always cheering from the bench, but I don't see the shooting touch that Zoubek had even before the light went on for him. Zoubek was always talented, he just needed to develop the footwork and good hands which came in February of his senior year.

Vrank is fine as an emergency backup, and also will be fine if any of our bigs aren't ready early in the season. He gave us quality minutes in the MSU Champions Classic game, scored a bucket too.

I hope that we are deep and talented enough that we don't have to count on Vrank for minutes, but I wouldn't mind if he gets the 9th man spot and gets 5-10 mpg in some games.
