I'm just thinking of ways the three pumpers left are going to justify this roster being better than last if Malachi Moreno were taken out of the equation.

First four you mean? Probably so, but it seems like they improved after he left. He played the year before.
What puzzles me is that athletes, when they need to stronger and heavier, don't. Not until their play dictates that they do. So, he'll either be able to compensate for that out of the gate, or he'll suck for a year.
As an end of the round pick Moreno actually makes sense depending on the needs of the team drafting him. If he's needed right away it's a terrible pick. If you think he's got a chance to play a lot higher than his draft pick number 2-3-4 years down the line he's perfect to draft and stash in the GLeague. For this to work it has to be a team that is deep, strong at developing a big man, and faith that it will all come to fruition.
YES ... I am hoping with the year off, extra-conditioning and practicing against Moreno and Garrison, he has developed his inside game. He can already shoot from beyond the arc. We will DEFINITELY need him to be productive, as it's certainly looking like he will receive meaningful minutes this year.

31.5% of his shots during his 2-year career at Miami (OH) were three-pointers, which he made at a 39.8% clip. He has a Wiltjer stroke from out there.

Not sure we can expect that, but it would be great. He is rarely spoken of. So, the likelihood seems low. Hope he is a great surprise to us all.

Wait…because I think Potter isn’t good enough to play in the SEC that means I’m not a fan? I think Pope isn’t a good enough coach to coach at this level I’m not a fan? That’s an odd take.
From my perspective I think anyone that supports 12-14 losses and this level of recruiting, isn’t a fan. At least not a fan that’s concerned about winning at an elite level.

I do get a little worn out on fans that obviously know nothing about the basketball part of all of this weighing in on basketball things. It’s fine to want a white (you know it’s true) KY kid to succeed. It’s another thing to try to convince others they WILL succeed. I’d like it better if they just said “I’d like Potter to do well because he’s a white kid from Ky” than to say “he’s got a nice stroke from 3”. Anyone that knows anything about basketball sees a 7’er that loads it up from his knees and takes FOREVER to get it off.
Garrison was a tall talented High School AA who never adapted to his potential & position in today’s college game - Very similar to Arron Bradshaw , who was better than BG IMO.
Reece Potter is a 7 -1 Ky kid who had a good HS career & is willing to play a role for the Kats that we badly lacked the last 2 years.
This board had a 2 yr Gripe Party about Garrison that was never ending. Now he’s talented?
Potter hasn’t played a minute in Blue - yet he’s getting hammered by the Debbie Downers. Let’s let BBN make up their minds about 2026 -27 team next November - I for one think with the three 6-5 guards & Kam,Hawthorne ,N’daye ,McBride , Moreno & Potter we’ll have a fun “Junk Yard Dog” team that will surprise a lot of fans. Either way- I’m going to Watch every game & support The Ky Wildcats just like I have my whole life.

I can at least envision a world where Hawthorne could be a decent PIECE. He was a top 40 kid. But I also don’t buy the “he added 30-40 lbs” stuff either. I need to see it. And IF he did, anyone that knows anything about how the body and athletics work, there’s a huge deal of concern on how his body holds up and how that changes his game. Again, just question marks. Anyone that anoints him the starter and a stud is just banking with fools gold.
Potter, on the other hand, sheesh. My wife and I have been together for 10 yrs. She knows NOTHING about basketball. Sits behind our bench for every game. Can’t tell an athlete from a mathlete. I showed her that Potter “highlight” clip. Her exact words…”that dude is too slow to play for Kentucky.” Then went back to reading her Kindle book about boss babes or some other business world crap. Lol

One thing we can agree on is I will watch every single game as well. And I will root them on just like I always have. But I’m also completely capable of saying they suck, when they do in fact suck.

Absolutely nobody is “wishing him negative results”. We all want him to do well. I swear, some of you knuckleheads make up the most blatant strawmen arguments.
It is true that some of us are skeptical of his ability to produce positive results ….due to the actual factual evidence and common sense …but there’s a massive difference between that and wishing for misfortune.

They also have clearly never performed in the public eye and probably never had a family member who had any measure of fame. If they had, they would not be so critical.
