I’ve noticed his highlights never show any buckets that aren’t either a three or a dunk/layup.

Does he not have any post moves or mid range game?

Probably not. Doesn’t seem to be very athletic or strong.

His release is very slow. Won't fare well with the athletes in the SEC.
Yeah, he's not going to get those H-O-R-S-E shots up in the SEC. He'll do fine against Tennessee Tech or whatever other 250+ KenPom teams are on the schedule.

I honestly don't care about his offense. I can't imagine that dude trying to defend the P&R against good teams. His feet are SO BAD. No lateral quickness. He'll get cooked out on the floor.

If we're talking ourselves into guys like Potter and Morton being rotation players, it's gonna be an ugly season. I've been assuming we'll add another big and Potter will remain a practice/emergency depth piece. We NEED another viable option at center, and we NEED another shooting guard/wing who can knock down threes.

Kid’s got a nice stroke from 3. Appears to have a high bball IQ. Hopefully he can give is some good minutes from the 5 spot.

Sorry, this is the only appropriate reaction to thinking "Reece Potter" and "blue blood rotation player" in the same sentence.

If Malachi does go to the draft, wish nothing but greatness for the kid. Not his fault he fell into a clusterfuck of an organization. I personally think it would be a better move for him to come back to UK.

Lol. That dude will be a complete non-factor against the SEC and the actual real part of the non-con.
I hate it for the kid… he could have stayed at his former school and had a great season. BYU lite will not work in the SEC

Agree but if you’re him and looking at NBA low first round making similar money or coming back to this debacle he may just stay in. 2nd come back work on things you need to improve on and increase draft stock for following year.

Weird that playing with Diallo, Williams, Wilkins, McBride, NDaiye, Hawthorne is described as a “debacle” by people who claim to be UK fans. Weird and unbelievable.

Now back to actual fans discussing Moreno.

Hopefully, Moreno comes back and gets guaranteed money to grow and improve. I think it unlikely he lands in the first round of the NBA. If you land in the second round, hopefully the team has already promised a guaranteed contract. Hoping he comes back. I think it will be a mistake if he does not.

He could be a decent piece, guys like him usually crush Junior and Senior year. Hopefully he turns out to be one of those mid major studs for our sake. He definitely seems to know how to play. Needs muscle so I hope his RS year he really hit the weights.

Take it for what it’s worth

If he's a first round pick right now the NBA is a terrible product.

That’s the really worrisome part. Defensively, Pope hasn’t set up any scheme to defend even with guys who are way more capable.
