Kid’s got a nice stroke from 3. Appears to have a high bball IQ. Hopefully he can give is some good minutes from the 5 spot.
Probably not. Doesn’t seem to be very athletic or strong.I’ve noticed his highlights never show any buckets that aren’t either a three or a dunk/layup.
Does he not have any post moves or mid range game?

That's the crazy part. Mark Pope should get an award for the rate at which he has made Kentucky the laughing stock of college basketball.he'll have to play some unless we get someone else or play small ball.

Honestly we would be best to mostly run a 7-8 man rotation unless major foul trouble/injury.Lol. That dude will be a complete non-factor against the SEC and the actual real part of the non-con.
Just from his passing ability.Where do you get the "high bball IQ" from?
45% shooter from 3 in ‘24-‘25I truely don't know why he is still on the team.

Agreed and I think that's what will happen unless he adds someone.Honestly we would be best to mostly run a 7-8 man rotation unless major foul trouble/injury.

Yeah, he's not going to get those H-O-R-S-E shots up in the SEC. He'll do fine against Tennessee Tech or whatever other 250+ KenPom teams are on the schedule. His release is very slow. Won't fare well with the athletes in the SEC.

The ******* REALITY is he’s the only backup we have right now so might as well point out his strengths however small they may be.And a realist sees reality.
Technically true. The ******* REALITY is he’s the only backup we have right now so might as well point out his strengths however small they may be.
He’s not ready he needs strength, post moves and mid range at least.Gonna be a rough few years in the G league. He wouldn’t have even played for Florida last year

I hate it for the kid… he could have stayed at his former school and had a great season. BYU lite will not work in the SECLol. That dude will be a complete non-factor against the SEC and the actual real part of the non-con.
Agree but if you’re him and looking at NBA low first round making similar money or coming back to this debacle he may just stay in. 2nd come back work on things you need to improve on and increase draft stock for following year.
Sorry, this is the only appropriate reaction to thinking "Reece Potter" and "blue blood rotation player" in the same sentence.
If Malachi does go to the draft, wish nothing but greatness for the kid. Not his fault he fell into a clusterfuck of an organization. I personally think it would be a better move for him to come back to UK.

That’s the really worrisome part. Defensively, Pope hasn’t set up any scheme to defend even with guys who are way more capable.Yeah, he's not going to get those H-O-R-S-E shots up in the SEC. He'll do fine against Tennessee Tech or whatever other 250+ KenPom teams are on the schedule.
I honestly don't care about his offense. I can't imagine that dude trying to defend the P&R against good teams. His feet are SO BAD. No lateral quickness. He'll get cooked out on the floor.
