You're the perfect example of somebody who only lives in their own head. Any other person or foreign thought is in invalid because it doesn't come from you... Hitmen hoops known in the national basketball landscape and has nothing to do with the OP.
LOL. Some clownshow out of Memphis with 6700 twitter followers who is following 1,700 accounts is not "known on the National Landscape." LMAO!

Your claim was that hitman206 is Hitmen Hoops... I never said it's the most famous person ever but they are completely different people and yes there are national media people who know and talk about hitmen hoops just like they do with tons of other people.

He said it wasn't his account, so be it. I guess he's just one of the hitmen, lmao. Later.

Pope should grow a beard so Eminem can tell him he has a "weird beard" but that same voice that he used to mock Machine Gun Kelly.
Maybe Pope can redo Rap God. He looks more like a starving zombie from the movie 28 Days Later.

You have to prove a false statement and damage to reputation unless that statement involves certain subjects (sexual promiscuity, a crime, business). Pope is a public figure, so he would have to prove actual malice. For posters here, that would probably be provable by the ugliness they display toward him. LOL
Hustler v Falwell is a good case for this discussion.

I know it’s very difficult to sue someone for that and win. You have to prove all sorts of things. Maybe a lawyer on here can explain it in more detail. I just know it’s a pain in the *** to win.

If you have $1000 an hour, a lawyer might explain it šŸ˜‚

"I'm angry that you are putting me on ignore because I want to agitate you and now I have to slither away and find someone else to try to irritate until my mum makes me go to bed."

Sorry, as Kentucky Mildcats said in this thread, the twitter post is fake. Sorry if that upsets some. That shows how PDS has taken over, competely.

Carry on.

So the OP LOOKS to have an account on twitter with basically the same name, makes up a rumor and is trying to spread it.

Unbelievable. Sadly, it WILL be spread.

That twitter account out of Memphis is also "interesting."
You wrapped that tinfoil around your head a little too tightly this time.

So specifically the damages are what, it's going to hurt his recruiting efforts? šŸ¤”
"Weird" is extremely subjective on top of that.
I think the tweeter is probably safe, Matlock.
šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

ā€œWeirdā€ is an opinion and not defamatory. Falsely saying a recruit said he was weird is defamatory, Barney.

Accusing someone of lying without proof is defamatory as well. And once again, what specifically are the damages? Was his reputation as a recruiter damaged? Monetarily quantify that. There is also the public figure standard, vs private. See the silliness of this yet?

I did not accuse anyone of lying and you know that. So, why you are so damn defensive is your issue. Deal with it.

If the defamation is deemed defamatory per se, the damages are assume. If not, the damages are damages to reputation. You show publication to a third party and that the person who heard or read the defamation thought one way about you before and another after hearing or reading the defamatory statement. Showing monetary harm is usually not required.

And, counselor, I already mentioned the difference between a normal Joe and a public figure.

Yup. First year of law school. Don’t you remember?
No I don’t. I am a lawyer btw. Defamation per se usually involves something like a crime or disease if I recall correctly. You’d also need to prove actual malice for a public figure and truth is a defense.

It also pertains to the individual’s profession, such as ethics or incompetence. Because it is presumed that lies about your professional skills will damage you.

If the statement is truthful, there is no defamation. So, if the kid said Pope was or is weird, there is no defamation in repeating that. Truth is the absolute defense. As I mentioned, regarding malice, if the person who lied is like a bunch of the posters here, you can make your case for malice.
