Unless Caleb gives Evan Cooper/Matt Rhule the cold shoulder, which I think is incredibly unlikely, IMO there’s always a spot for CB.

I don't think not having room for a kid because he chose to string out his recruitment is a snub.

No, I don’t think he would deliberately snub him. But it could be a scenario of get on board or get out of the way, we ain’t playing games. And if he didn’t come, I guarantee Rhule has somebody as good or better in mind

That Ducanville team is LOADED. There's about 30 D1 players on varsity. Taking one away from Oklahoma is always a welcomed sight.
They are the new recruiting school in the DFW metroplex.
They got stripped of titles a year ago.
Four-star offensive lineman Preston Taumua has the Nebraska Cornhuskers among his top two teams with Oregon. He’s ranked 219th overall and is 6-foot-4, 315 pounds out of Hawaii. He’s listed as an interior offensive lineman, but his scouting report sounds like he could play tackle too.
Either way, you can never have enough quality offensive linemen. Oregon and Nebraska football each hosted Taumua for official visits in June. But the Huskers are right in the mix and here’s what Taumua told 247 Sports about the Nebraska Cornhuskers:
“Some people were kind of surprised that I put Nebraska up there. I don’t know why. They always love to bring up Nebraska’s old record but the relationship that I’ve built with coach Donovan Raiola is something special. They can make you laugh, smile and even make you feel motivated before games. I can tell that they will be better than they were last year, especially with coach Matt Rhule there.”
However, if Nebraska football is able to land a top-100 talent, it will certainly take the chance. Caden Durham could be that guy. He’s a running back out of Duncanville, Texas, and ranked 97th overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Durham rushed for nearly 2,000 yards as a junior and he’s ranked 10th at the position. Oklahoma is the crystal ball leader but if the Sooners take Taylor Tatum, Durham might want to go somewhere else.
Nebraska football will host him for an official visit in September. Alabama will do the same so the competition will be stiff even if OU isn’t involved. LSU has also received a crystal ball but that was back in March.

I knew their basketball team lost a title recently for using an ineligible player, hadn't heard anything about their football program.
Colin Simmons is an absolute beast in this year's class and Dakorien Moore is probably the best WR in the state, even though he's '25.
If you can get a recruiting presence in the DFW, it's a no brainer. The big, proximal schools can't take everyone.

Wasn't it based on Rhule's NFL results and lack of wins against ranked opponents in college? What has changed since he formed his initial opinion? Or am I confusing him with someone else?
No. it was based on the fact that a buddy of Shanle’s from his days in New Orleans got sent packing from Carolina Rhule’s first year there. It was all personal vendetta based on a buddy losing his coaching job.
It was hard to listen to him on 1620 after the hire. Got no problem with anyone pointing out possible issues and concerns, but he had a really hard time answering some basic questions from the hosts and ended up sounding like a whiny lil beeatch.
He made multiple comments in interviews about Panther assistants not liking Rhule. In reality he was referring to Joe Brady after it became evident that he was in over his head as an NFL OC. He latched on to that record deal after he saw it on social media. He shut the hell up after Tom and Frank both got on board with Rhule. He wanted a former Husker to get the job.
Hahaha yeah because that worked so well last round. Who did he want? After Frost, there wasn't anyone even remotely qualified. And Zac Taylor wasn't walking through that door.
