Recruiting at the root

Don't necessarily disagree that the depth is lacking but when Reiber comes up big or Hyatt grabs some key boards in a big ranked win, there are no cries about bad recruiting. There's a bunch of threads about the potential of the young guys. Then we lose and recruiting sucks. Inconsistent bitching.
I've been vocal about lack of recruiting for over a month now and the Pike-eez attack me by the bunches.

Our depth is horrific

Recruiting a major issue
Just about every team in the B1G and America have their starters playing 30+ minutes per game at this time of the season unless they get in foul trouble.

Wisconsin starters played 32, 32, 35, 35 and 36. 2 Bench points.

Rutgers starters played 37, 36, 35, 32 and 26. 5 Bench points.

Does anyone think we’re not trying to recruit talented players? I really don’t understand the criticism.

Meh, don’t really feel like our wins against good teams were decided by lucky breaks. Even Purdue.. the last shot obviously is not repeatable but we put ourselves in position. Maybe Ohio st. We beat Illinois and Michigan st decisively, Wisconsin on the road pretty decently as well.
That was 3 straight losses ago...we were so close...and then lack of recruiting weird it's ugly head

What? Complete non sequitur. Try to keep up with the conversation, I know this stuff is complicated. Or do you want to give me more lessons on how volatility affects stock prices?

You are a bad human, a bad poster, and a general scourge on the universe at large.

Have you considered becoming a Seton Hall fan?
Nah., I went to Rutgers and grew up next to Seton Hall in the Ivy Hill Apartments. Actually the philanthropic and business communities of Santa Fe embrace me. I have access to the mayor 24/7 and every key philanthropic and business entity in Santa Fe and I'm on numerous boards. So you Pike-eez I'm sorry that my jersey candid speaking on this board has upset you clowns but I'm extremely well respected both personally and business-wise where I've called home for the last 26 years.

No one who tries this hard to convince others online that they are an important and liked person is actually an important or liked person.

Get ******.

If we had an experienced back up big, an experienced scoring point guard who can d up, and a combo guard who could give some offense and some perimeter defense we would be very good.
So you're saying we need to replace 25% of our team that Pike has recruited with players who can shoot the ball.... Actually I think you're being very kind, I'd make the case for 33 to 50% replacement with shooters.

Sure, but my point is you are oversimplifying things.

I mean at the end of the day I think we are an under talented (except cliff and Harper) and extremely well coached team. But many people on here will tell you we are terribly coached so..
Rutgers is a overachieving program that has been able to win at least 10 league games three straight seasons. They should be commended for that achievement. At the same time Rutgers must recruit players better than the current squad in order to maintain and improve upon current success.Player development can take a program only so far .

It was a bad call. He had stopped his momentum. Complete flop. Ref was on the baseline couldn't see from that angle and assumed. Well after the play too non factor. It's a no call all day
What did the TV announcers say about that play?

Asking people who criticized Pikiell to root for PSU/Hall is a typical move by Pike fans.
