Just curious what these "unrealistic results" are? I am sorry I just don't see it? Is giving Cally 4 years, having him go 5-6,8-4, 9-5, 5-7, having him destroy (literally) every tradition we had, winning nothing of importance, and being a crazy nut job. Is that being "unrealistic.
Is giving Bo 7 years, having him win no more than 9 games, no conf champ, basically stalled out the program at middle of the pack, which he and the players were absolutly fine with. Besides also being a crazy hot head who installed an us vs the world mentallity to his players. Is that being to unrealistic?
Or giving MR 3 years a 20+ year coach who is just above .500, who is slightly above .500 here. Who has only beat 2 ranked teams since being here, getting blown out by all others. Who, is coaching possibly one of the worse Neb teams in the last 60+ years. Is that being unrealistic?
Maybe I am way off but from the people I am around and talk to, people do not expect to win a Conf title or NC by year 3-4. They want a team that is showing growth, that is showing heart and fight and progress from year to year. A team that doesn't lay down and die against teams like Minn. A team that is not happy with just going to a bowl. We have not had that in almost 20 years. If you consider those expectation "unrealistic" then you can count almost every program in the country as having "unrealistic" goals
