UK needs to drop the price of those end zone seats to $10 apiece then offer a deal on concessions for a family so we can fill Rupp again.

With all of the money the school makes from the TV contracts and the K Fund seats, why not do that?

Until UK does that, quit BEGGING people to pay high prices for games against crappy teams.

every single year since the NCAA started seeding teams in the NCAAT. We beat duke last year and we would of been a 1 seed and not of had to play auburn...... and Evansville this year will probably keep us from a 1 seed.

Yeah jeez what a shame if not for losing to Evansville we were going 30-0

It's not about the schedule. If this team featured James Wiseman the gym would be packed.

Getting the best players gives the fans the idea of fresh excitement every season. We have a team full of really good players who will grow and develop over time, but from an excitement perspective, it's pretty much what we saw three of the last four seasons as far as talent is concerned.

The fan base is in a "I'll wait until they develop" mindset. Until then, there's no John Wall or Karl Towns to get excited about from day one. That means, we'll wait until this thing galvanizes a bit.

Fans should showup cuz Kentucky do have recruits visiting even against crappy teams. Having alot of empty seats wouldn't be a good look.
Probably the reason Calipari doesn't have Greg Brown visiting until January.

By then, we'll be in the SEC hunt and the place will be packed once this team gets an identity.

In the commonwealth of Kentucky you can't have beer or bourbon at a basketball game? What a travesty
That's why some want to sit on their couches and have an adult beverage and watch their High definition big *** TVs. Rupp isn't making a good case to keep selling out. Being able to drink a beer and watch your team is just one of many things they could do to make it better. Hell, having a beer at a sporting event is American.

Ticket prices for games against crap state need to be waaaay lower. Eliminate the eRupption Zone....it's going to happen in a couple of years anyway. Students don't give a **** and it looks terrible to have all that emptiness in the lower arena. Move 'em up top.
The reluctance to selling alcohol in Rupp is ridiculous. Someone needs to get into Barnhart's ear on this. Maybe the Board will need to get involved and force a change? And finally...atmosphere at Rupp needs a serious injection of F-U-N. You pay all that money to go to a game and sit on your *** because you're afraid someone behind you will have you thrown out for standing. That silliness has to stop too.

I imagine the same people saying "when did early season ever matter" and "we make the tournament every year" are the same ones that say "that Kentucky State team sure done good yesterday" (wrong team and schedule)

I love going to UK games but with the new big tv's and the comforts of home the hassle of attending games has kept me away...well that and the fact I live in North Carolina now :)

When did early season ever matter?
It used to matter years ago. I was still living in Lexington in the early '80's when UK played teams like Ohio State, Villanova, Illinois, Indiana (when they were good), etc. Also brought in teams Kentucky seldom played like Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, BYU and Pepperdine for the UKIT. Half the teams we're playing early were probably JUCOS back then.

Big TVs have been around for 20+ years, HD has been around over a decade, beer sales have never been in Rupp and UL who does have beer sales has seen a dramatic drop in attendance too.

The prices and quality of the games is the real issue. I laugh when people say we can't afford an NBA team in Louisville because the ticket prices are too high. Ticket prices for upper arena seats are far more expensive for UK and UL than they are for the Indiana Pacers.

The cheapest standard ticket you can get from the Pacers is usually $11-$13. Lucas Oil Family Night specials are $15-$25 you get a ticket, voucher for a Chick Fil A meal, a Pacers hat, and get to go on the court and shoot a free throw after the game. The most a game will be is $50 for uppers when say AD, Lebron and the Lakers come to town.

A UK vs Lamar game with run you $30, a UK UAB game on a Friday night will run you $40, a UK SEC game will run you $50. You have no chance at getting tix to any of the good games because they instantly sell out as soon as they're available but scalpers somehow always end up with theirs but if you could get them a standard ticket to say UL would be like $150.
