What am I missing with this kid? People on here acting like this kid is the next Barry Sanders or even better from the sounds of some of you, lol
You are missing that the PSU run game is horrendous - and people are going to want to see ANY potential change implemented. Which is abundantly "normal".

I highly doubt Q Martin is any kind of salvation (there are HUGE problems that have nothing to do with the RB position, and I doubt that Martin is "all that" anyway) - but even feeling that way, it is perfectly understandable why many would be clamoring for a change there. WTF else are they going to hang their "hat of hope" on? Right?

Martin, like a back up QB, always gets the attention when the first team running back(s) are not producing. If you recall, he did not even play in a game earlier in the year and it was not hard to read between the lines from the coaches that he needed to work harder in practice. The Clemson bowl game may have made us a bit delusional where he ran for over 100 yards; however, Clemson's D-Line resembled a JV team with portals and injuries. Sad to say, in the "old days" he would normally stay with the program and work his *** off until his eligiblity runs out and have learned a great life's lesson. He may have been successful, or not. Problem is nowadays, he could portal, take the easy way out, and still may not play elsewhere. Sign of the times unfortunately.
Finally, his Dad needs to understand that this is no longer high school. The kid is getting paid and he is an adult. Land the helicopter Dad, their is no growth without adversity.

Where at Lehigh?
I remember we were told the WR room sucked here, but KLS and Wallace portabled out and enjoyed real success in the SEC. I guarantee the same thing will happen with Martin. Ironically, the one room that does not suck right now is the WR room! There’s the one thing Campbell fixed.

KLS was our best WR at the time. QM has never been above 3 and he won’t sniff a SEC starting job. Sorry but you’re not really being rational about this.

QMs pop , is chirping.......
QM SR. since deleted post on X:
This kid is just not good, 5yrs in college and he tries to throw to the far hash, he doesn’t have the arm strength, the height(why alot of his throws get batted down at the line)and sad to say doesn’t have the IQ. He just isn’t it. Oh and BTW my son only got 2 carries yesterday....
Pops posted it, and then deleted it soon there after. He knew it was a boo boo.
The only questionable remark is the low IQ. His play reminds me of Clifford during his lengthy regression to poor....I'll give Sean credit his final rose bowl MVP was best I saw from him. QM not playing is questionable. Saquan had many carries for little or negative yards....but then would break one for an "explosive" play. Exactly what Quinton did in the only game he had more than two carries.

Hansen has proven over and over again that he's better than Martin. Martin broke one run this year. What's his long run in Big Ten play?
You seem to forget he isn't playing....Saquon had plenty of negative carries, but he also played enough to get the couple great runs. I played alongside Eddie Lee Ivery....he was pretty good, like most great backs he got stronger as the game went on... maybe you aren't old enough to remember him. RBs need carries to establish rhythum....hard to do on 2 carries per game. Everyone complained Journey wasn't a football player, just a track star....once he had his chance he did pretty good.

You may be a good BOT representative....but your qualifications for judging football talent hasn't been established. Please refrain from judging players as not being all that until you can explain your conclusion.

I think I said "I doubt it" wrt Martin being a savior.
Could be wrong, could be right - just a IMO (from, obviously - very little actual on field time for QM)

Yup, even at lower levels. Saw it all the time. One of the worst cases at the pro level was Lindro's father.
Yeah. Let you kids play and stay out of it. If they’re being mistreated (not mistreated like not getting enough playing time) step in, otherwise cheer them on and let them play.

It’s easy for Barry. If he puts on a PSU uniform, he sucks. It’s PSU. We do nothing well.

I'm not forgetting he isn't playing. There's reasons he's not aging. Legit ones. Q isn't a natural RB. He's a liability in the past game.

Yeah it was really stupid but Martin might as well tell his agent to look for potential portal destinations right now since he has no chance of seeing the field after his old man criticized Campbell’s boy.

And there's the real issue
Pops is mad Jr isn't good enough
No the real issue is everything Martin Sr. said about Becht was spot on. Is your boy, Hansen, going to make All Big Ten this year? Nice of Campbell and Mouser to give Martin two carries both of which were predictable runs so that he can justify still playing Hansen on most downs.

How so? Ask Diego Pavia and hundreds of others who's dad (parents) use their success to try to profit. Support is great. All parents should support their kids.

Explain how you're justifying this...

He's too involved when he bashing his son's teammates and complaining about Q's touches on social media. I'm an *** for stating that. You're an *** for not blaming dad
I said that he should have said that but naturally you used that as an opportunity to bash Martin and prop up Hansen.

Clemson was a scrimmage. It was meaningless. Who cares what they did in an opt out game.
Not sure what Journey has to do with anything.
It's only an opt out game for those who quit and opted out. It was not a scrimmage. Penn State beat Clemson last season in an actual college football game that has as much or more meaning than any other game that was on their schedule.

Please stop with the ******** about the bowl game with Clemson allegedly being a “scrimmage”. It becomes even more idiotic each time you repeat it.
It was a scrimmage. You pretending otherwise is on you
See everyone that opts out and how coaches couldn't care less--they get it

It was 100% a scrimmage. Winning or lose had no impact on everything. It's merely a reward for those that want to play.
It has infinitely less meaning than every other game on the schedule

You know it’s going to happen, and he will be a day one starter at his new school and run for 1,000 yards during the season.
How is that possible? All off season I was told right here that our new coach was an elite identifier of talent and he routinely developed players into NFL stars.

This is a really bad take. It’s still a game. Against a coach who has multiple NC’s in the modern era. Downplaying it serves no purpose other than to help prop up your argument which has merit without pissing on the biggest win on that season.

Seeing this social media horse-a$$ coupled with the on-the-field horse-a$$ makes me wonder what is going on in the locker room. It’s hard enough when you aren’t good at football. They don’t need dissension on top of it.

Agreed. Everyone needs to be on board with the suckage. The worst thing that can happen is that people start speaking the truth.

How is it a big win? When players "opt out" we all know how little relevance the game has. People just refuse to acknowledge it because of the past. The purpose it serves is to acknowledge how unimportant bowls are...thankfully the 24 team playoff should eliminate them altogether. Long overdue...decades overdue.

I can’t think this through for you. Wins don’t have asterisks because players opt out. That is a fan invention to feel better about losing. Take the win.

He looked pretty good against Clemson. Same thing was said about Journey Brown...was he a worthless RB also?
He is also the only back to rush for 100 yards in a game so far this year too. He brings "explosives" or "chunk plays" into the equation. Plus, I think we could add more outside the tackle runs into the mix of plays, as we seem to be between the tackle heavy with a primary back that isn't particularly adept at finding the hole (but who amongst us is?).

The wins only exist to convince people that they matter so they watch.
I don't need to feel good or bad about anything they do. The rest of the season for us this year is merely about pride. There's no difference between 3-9 or 8-4 in reality. Either way you failed to achieve the only goal...make the playoffs

If bowl games matter why won't they exist I'm their current form when the playoff expands? Why do players opt out? Why does no one care that coaches are changing teams? Embrace what it really is.

Determined to be the last person to go down with the Titanic huh? Your continued claim that a bowl game is a “scrimmage” probably tops the list of your clueless posts (and that covers a TON of ground).
