Do we have any boosters who can and will take advantage of NIL to help us be competitive with the rest of the league?
I have a few bucks if somebody wants to come over and help me with some landscaping. That's the best I have to offer.
What's funny is I think that's still actually against NCAA rules...
Now, you could pay a landscaping company that is paying the player to use his NIL for their landscaping business.
I think you always could pay them as long as it was market rate for legitimate work.
All the big money names I know of are dead.
You get it.Trust me there are plenty of boosters with companies that could hire athletes to advertise. I don’t think there is going to be significant money coming from small business on this. I do think an athlete here and there might pick up some advertising gigs from local businesses but I think the majority is going to come from sports related brands, big companies that will likely only care about the popularity of the athlete not their affiliation to the school.

Don’t kid yourself
No one here is in the know

Could it be possible to “hire” some athletes to do an advertisement spot, then decide to not use the material ad say the company “went a different direction”? That way technically no one would know who got paid.

How many members does this board have? Need to set some kind of sixpack adverstising fund with the understanding that any freshman D-linemen who starts a game at MSU will get 20K. So it can't go to a recruit, but hopefully word will get out that if you sign with MSU and start on the D-line, sixpack will pay you 20K.
