MLB released their top 20 jersey sales, here is the list:
View attachment 19895
I’ve heard of 10 of these players, of those 2 are because of Joel T, and the other because of trash cans. I could pick 2 out of a lineup. I went back and looked at 2010 and I knew 17 of 20 and could pick 12 out of a lineup. I’ll admit I don’t watch a lot of MLB but I didn’t in 2010 either. How many does the pack know?

I’m not familiar with the **** but Keke was my favorite player on those Dodger teams. Him and Joc Pederson, the Cards may regret not putting a flyer out on him

The Arenado signing was fun, but it won’t be enough to get past SD nor LA. Neither would adding one more bat. Hope I’m wrong though.

The only way I see us getting past LA, SD, or possibly ATL is if our bullpen is absolutely lights out, in the way the Royals pen pitched in ‘15 or so when they won it all. Outside of Flarety and maybe Waino I see a lot of 4-5 inning outings and then some filthy matchups late in games. I believe this is Jeff Albert’s (I think that’s the hitting coach’s name) last chance to jumpstart the offense or they will cut bait. I still want Jimmy Ballgame as hitting coach. I don’t know how well he could teach it but listening to him talk hitting and pitching it’s clear he is a borderline savant.

I know all of them but had no idea that Hernandez was with the Red Sox now and am floored to learn he’s in the Top 10. He’s never even been an all star.

I’d be interested to know how jersey sales compare to what they were 20 years ago.

The only reason I know them is because I watch Phil Hughes open packs of cards on Youtube.

I've heard of 18. Could probably only pick out half of that in a lineup if I saw them without names on jerseys. I don't watch much MLB either, but I often watch highlights and am subscribed to Jomboy's breakdown channel on youtube.

I think any legit baseball fan would know all of these guys.

I find it funny to see **** Hernandez on that list though. That's akin to if there were a list of the 20 most popular jerseys of former State football players, and TJ Mahwinney showed up at number 9.

The Arenado trade was huge. Just a huge get by the Cardinals. It will be fun watching him and Goldy play the corners for years to come.

The Cardinals just don't have the pitching, particularly in a playoff series. When you look at some of these staffs in the NL, particularly in LA, SD, and NY, it's ridiculous.

I recognize 4 names but couldn't have told you what they did if I didn't know from the thread. Let's hope all these jersey sales are to kids under 13 too because it still ain't right for grown men to wear jerseys.

I was a huge fan growing up. I knew them all, what team they played for, where they were from, etc. I would lay on the floor and keep a scorebook of every game on tv, which wasn't many back then. Wish I had those old scorebooks back.

Then, players began thinking they were bigger than the game. Roberto Alomar spitting in the face of an umpire, George Brett charging the ump in the pine tar incident, free agency, the strike, steroids, corked bats, long games w/ too many commercials, etc, etc. I haven't watched MLB in years because of it

I’m with you, but it wasn’t anything like that for me. I had all the lolligagging. Ball one. Step out, adjust, tap 13 times, squint like you are looking at someone in the top row above the dugout, strike 1, repeat. That’s why I love watching Sims, he pitches like he is late for something and he doesn’t have time for your stalling ****.

You might literally be the only person on earth who quit watching MLB due to the Pine Tar Incident.

Drives me nuts too & makes me wish there were still pitchers like Dave Stewart. Smoke wouldn't have gone for it.

Fantasy baseball is the only way a can follow MLB. It's hard for me to stay interested from April to September without it.

Although it's been a few years since I played. I need to find a league where you set your lineup once a week. The every day checking matchups, waiver wire, streaming players & pitchers just takes too much time. But if you're in a competitive league that's what it takes to compete unless you get lucky with the draft.

Yep. They’ll be fun in the regular season and then if they make the playoffs, they’ll get smashed.
