People would be insane to not choose good coach.

I hope we don't wind up settling for our third of fifth choice and then find there was a reason they were #5.

My hope is an announcement of a press conference at 2:00 pm, but that hasn't happened yet.

Good questions that you definitely don't already know the answer to. I'm interested to see the results.**

DS, I'm begging for a 10 day "check with me" block on new sign-ups. Just ten days. Help us out, bro!

Sorry Rabbi. I didn't see I responded to his first post. Now I feel as dumb as I look.

Napier appears to be what's important to the board. Many on here have incredible SEC football coach evaluation skills and absolutely know the best fit without even having to interview them. I only wish I had real names and not screen names so they could come help me run a company.***

I know what I’d like to believe most would choose, but reading the threads leads me to believe I’d be disappointed.

I can understand this based on a lot of first posts that come around and would be willing to abide to that rule if it were in place. I’d still like to know what most here truly think.

I think Napier has just become a product of momentum on this board. People don't like the idea of a G5 coach turning us down, so now they want him just because he was allegedly our primary target.

I'm sure he's a decent coach and he might do well here, but if he isn't interested in the job then just move on. It's harsh, but I don't like a coach who was fired from a coordinator position for poor performance. I prefer my coaches to be winners.

Perhaps a better question would be... Which would you prefer?
a. Another year of Moorhead
b. Literally anyone else

I'd like a splash hire who wins the press conference. 17it, who cares about tomorrow? Sleep when you die!

Obviously the most important thing to everyone is that we end up w a successful coach, but that's not a guarantee no matter what happens during the search process

It may be just as likely (or even moreso) that Bill Clark or Dave Clawson end up being better than Napier. So if we got our 8th choice as opposed to our 1st, as long as it turns out fine, then Cohen will be judged on that long term.

As for judging Cohen's search at this juncture, I think it's a positive that he's talking to a large amount of coaches in a short amount of time, so no one really can say for sure that we have a "pecking order."

Why are people creating accounts to ask stupid *** questions? Who cares about a 'splash' hire? Can he win football games....End of discussion.

This is also insane. In case no ne told you, there are many coaches out there that are multiple factors of ten worse than Moorhead.

I would throw out the statement that he is in the top half, skill wise.

if the topic was "investigating OM for rules violations", I could possibly see why there would be an influx of very low count new posters afraid of being sued.... BUT some of these are new accounts and some are clearly socks.... and the topic is our coaching search. is there some threat to being outed in this?

It would appear that many (not all) posters here would prefer the splash hire based on reading the threads. I guess I’m just surprised at the number of people that feel that way.

I agree with you that winning games is the most important thing.

Absolutely agree with you. I shouldn’t have used “literally anyone else.” I should have said “anyone else on our list of candidates.”
