Sorry,UKWILDCAT,they did not own him when he played. I remember one game when he went off for 60 plus. Kentucky did win the game but not because they stopped Pete.

Bob Tallent from Maytown KyOriginally posted by Indy Cat:
Louie Dampier & Kevin Grevey were the two best pure shooters at Kentucky before the "3" imo. Larry Pursiful & Bob Tallent were also good from outside along with Macy.
Issel & Cotton did most of their scoring from close-in & midrange shots.
NOTE: Bob Tallent transferred from UK to Geo Wash & led the nation in scoring there.
Kyle Macy without a doubt.Originally posted by Jon_D:
Had the three-point shot existed in college basketball prior to the mid-1980s, what UK players do you think would have had the mot potential to be three-point experts?

There is something different about listening to the game on the radio versus watching it on TV. This question brings one of those big differences to mind. In the radio days there were certain players that you loved to hear their names called because you new that it meant 2 points for the cats. Of the many Kevin Grevey, Pat Riley, Larry Pursiful, all come to mind however being on the radio you did not know how deep they were when the shot was taken I do not remember Cawood giving that statistic. Thanks for the question it brings back some pleasant memories.
