If you could pick three teams to play outside your conference each year who would it be? Like a home and home series or whatever!

Home/Home series are a thing of the past. Were Duke, we play in enough tough road environments in ACC play.
I'd love to play UK annually in Atlanta/Indy.
UCLA in a East Coast/then West Coast city.
UNLV in Vegas/then Raleigh.

Why in Raleigh?

Before the major conference expansion Duke used to play a major power late in the season in preparation for NCAA play. Had some good games with Arizona, UCLA, Kansas to name a few.

Used to play Michigan and St Johns on a regular basis during non-conference play. After a few years those matchups just seemed to get stale.

Would prefer a different major power opponent each season as opposed to playing the same ones for a number of season's.

I wouldn’t want to play an out of conference team every year. It would get stale. I like the non-conference opponents to be something new and fresh and intriguing every year. We get enough of the same old same old with conference play.

Oregon, Oregon St., Univ of Portland. I also live on the West Coast.

In reality:

KY: No explanation needed. But, the refs would probably call more fouls on Duke than KY, thus giving Duke the same advantage they gave K-State this year in the tourney (KY fan logic) and we’d be inundated with KY fans on this board crying after each game.

Missouri: I’m originally from KS and hate everything about Misery (proper way to say Missouri). I would love to see Duke beat them once a year.

Gonzaga: Consistently good so they’d improve Duke’s SOS.

Thought about UCONN but they’re irrelevant now. Arizona will probably fall way off too. Due to family ties I can’t say KU.

Villanova, because it is truly a class program.
Twerps, for a whole host of reasons, to include but not limited to watching its campus burn after we beat them and payback for abandoning the ACC.
South Carolina, because I like Frank Martin and am a Gamecock fan too.

It doesn’t get stale if both teams are relevant each year. Mich. Duke game was great every game back in the day.

UK, Nova as long as Jay Wright is there, and Arizona

We already have conference teams we play each and every year. I don’t see much need to make it a point to play the same out of conference teams every year.

The St. John’s thing, for example, seems to have been going on since 2000. I know there have been some years in there we haven’t played them. But anyways, I can’t ever remember being excited for the St. John’s game. Even when they had better teams than what they’ve had lately.
