That is what I am wanting to do. Ditch Spectrum and get YouTube TV.
I am not very technical. Questions:
Is it a pain getting YouTube TV up and running? How do you install it?
I am thinking I will just cancel my Spectrum cable pkg and then just get a high speed internet service from them to support the YouTube TV.
Also, I only have 1 "Smart" TV. Will I be able to watch it on my other TVs(which are not old, and are flat screen, etc Samsung and LG tvs....just not ""Smart").
Finally....from what I read for the $50 a month You Tube TV gives you 6 "Family" accounts, right? So can I include my kids and give them access for that $50 even though they live elsewhere in the same city?
You will probably need a Roku or Firestick for each TV you want to watch on, but again, those pay for themselves in the first month (and if you have a tech savvy friend who can work some magic, you'll have every movie ever made for free, but that's illegal and no one would ever do such a thing). But yes, other people with a firestick or roku can log in to your account from anywhere and watch.
When you plug the Roku or Firestick into your HDMI port (on the back/side of the TV usually) it'll display on your TV screen (you may have to select HDMI1, 2, etc on your remote until you find it the first time).
From there, you'll just scroll down and find the Youtube TV app (or Hulu or whatever, it's really easy to navigate through the icons) and download it by selecting it. Then you just log in to whatever you decided to use and you're good to go.
Some of them will ask you questions or to give them certain shows you like so that it can build a suggestions area for you and recommend shows and movies you may like, but you can skip that if you want.
You might want to sign-up for the streaming service of your choice online, just because typing in your email address and password can be tedious using a remote control. After that, it's really intuitive and simple to figure out how to navigate channels, set recordings, etc.
Plus, it's such a common method now that there are tons of great tutorials for anything you might need help with.
