People can say what they want about us and that we don't deserve a good seed, but the quad shows different. This is one of the main things the NCAA is supposed to look at this year. So let's see how we currently stand along with a few others. There are only 6 teams in the country with more quad 1-2 wins than Ky. Not bad, right? Also look at the others below, some that are seeded higher than us right now. As you know we have a great RPI and SOS already. If this is as important as they have made it out to be I believe we are a 3-4 seed. Oh yeah, that terrible loss people bring up @SC was a quad 1 loss.

Quad 1-2 wins:

Ky: 12
Virginia: 12
Dook: 11
UNC: 13*
TENN: 11
KU: 19*
Nova: 14*
Loserville: 5 LOL
OK: 9
Xavier: 13*
Purdue: 10
Zags: 6
Ohio ST: 9
Witch ST: 13*
Mich ST: 8-YES 8! (#2 team in the country with lots of #1 votes)
WV: 13*

Also if we beat FL it will give us 13 and the SEC since a neutral court we can add 2-3 more. So if we win it all (SEC and beat FL we will end up with 15-16 Quad 1-2 wins which should pass some teams that play in weaker conferences or could lose. We could end up 2-3rd if all goes well. We could be at 13 after FL and end at 16 after SEC Tourney which would mean only 2 teams would be higher.

Good post. You wouldn't happen to be an accountant by chance?

I've said this all along. We are gonna get a better seed than people think

I'll believe it when I see it. Mitch will probably sit back and let us get screwed again this year. While he can't do anything specifically about us, he sure can help influence what other seeds and locations the rest get. He might be able to help us move up a line by putting someone else above us down a line. I'm sure we will end up with the top seeds of each line all in our bracket some how.

The Quad 1 and 2 wins will help bubble teams get into the tournment but Quad 1 wins is what will get you a higher seed with the Selection Committee, if you go by their first bracket reveal.

Just curious... But wondering if the quad 1 wins compared to some of these teams is why we are seeded lower. Great that the combined are so high but what's the breakdown of just quad 1?

The Quad 1 and Quad 2 wins are impressive, however, the 0-4 record against Top 25 RPI and 6-7 record against Top 50 RPI will probably hurt come selection Sunday, there should be an opportunity in SEC Tourney to avenge Auburn and TN losses which would help that metric, UK is looking squarely at a 4 or 5 NCAA seed right now.

Whats up UK? I check your board often because of the variety of topics and just the amount of activity over here. I watch a ton of basketball as many of you do. There is no doubt in my mind if you use the eye test that UK is a 3 seed. Had the ball bounced the other way in some of your close games you would be pushing a 2. The length of your team is scary. Hope you guys are not in KU's region. Good luck the rest of the way and maybe we will see you in the final four.

Believe it when I see it. We ain’t getting a 3 seed, even if we win out.

First off, I don't see us winning out, but if we did. There is no dout we could be a 3 seed.
We beat OleMiss, @ Florida, SEC tournament - Mississippi St, Auburn and Tennessee.

We are already a 4-5 (more towards the 4 right now). We win out, a 3 seed is not out of the question. That would add 3 quadrant 1 wins on our resume.

UK will get the in the worst bracket when all is said and done. Had been that way many times over the years.

The Quad 1 record will end up hurting UK in the seeding. No bad losses is good but only 3 Quad 1 wins and 0 top 25 wins is going to drop UK down a seed line, IMO.

There was no doubt we’d be a 3 seed in 2016 and 2011. We weren’t in the early bracket released this month, the NCAA isn’t going to have a change of heart in regards to UK.

We started out 12th last year in the early release and wound up 5th. Winning cures a lot of things.

Mich State's OOC schedule was horrible and the Big 10 isn't much of a league this year. Their record is deceptive.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!!!!!!!!
Season records, rankings and seedings can be VERY subjective.

Mich.St. 28-3 (SOS-118 per ESPN)
  • 16% of their games this year were against RPI 1-50 teams
  • 68% of their games this year were against RPI +100 teams
  • 48% of their games this year were against RPI +150 teams
  • 29% of their games this year were against RPI +200 teams
UK 20-9 (SOS-3)
  • 45% of their games this year were against RPI 1-50 teams (1-to go)
  • 24% of their games this year were against RPI +100 teams (1 to go)
  • 14% of their games this year were against RPI +150 teams
  • 7% of their games this year were against RPI +200 teams
Vanderbilt 11-18 (SOS-1)
  • 55% of their games this year were against RPI 1-50 teams (1-to go)
  • 17% of their games this year were against RPI +100 teams (1 to go)
  • 10% of their games this year were against RPI +150 teams
  • 7% of their games this year were against RPI +200 teams

Duke is 3-4 in Quad 1 games and are projected to be a 2 seed.
