So does Purdy get a pass for losing considering he was hurt and played despite reportedly needing surgery?

Stats-wise he had the best game of the season for a Husker QB, despite being hurt.

Does he get a pass?
Only stat that matters is a W.. rest of stats are for nerds named Bill

only took 2 drives for wisc to figure purdy out.

on Friday we will not be better than our opponent at a single position both on the field and on the sideline, their lameduck OC included.

there's no leg to stand on yet for the purdy lovers.

we just got rid of an all stats, no wins QB & staff, yet here you dick riders are, eager for more.

I'm not surprised. most of you don't know what you're watching in the first place.
Curious.

1. Did defensive coordinators “figure out Haarberg?”
2. If so, how many series did it take?

Serious questions. I personally think it’s absurd that you are claiming that we
Don’t have enough data yet to say that “Purdy is better” yet you say that there was enough data on Purdy for the Badger DC to “figure Purdy out”.

Really?

6 games for HH

2 series for purdy, who refuses to stay in the pocket

No.

HH is too hurt to play this week and last. He doesn’t get a pass for being hurt and losing to MSU.

He's busy ragging on Satt, Raiola, Rhule and Benhart. The only possible reason we won any games this year is because of HH!!😂
Throw in how bad the B1G is in FB and BB, now that Purdue just won that loaded tourney. He is on a roll.

I'll say this about Purdy: I apologize Chubba, you are a threat to run. I hope you lead this team for a W against Iowa.

However, HH still has all the W's. And if Chubba doesn't win this Saturday that will be the case for the whole year that the only QB to LEAD this TEAM to a W would be HH.

How the dude looks I could not give two ***** about. Wins are what matter. Its why you play the game. I don't care about throwing motion. I don't care about how the NFL dad or brother or boyfreinds' nephews' cousin is doing right now in the league. I don't care about 40 times. I don't care about number of starts. Start winning.

I don't care about who said what about the other. Wins are THE measurement of objectivity. Not some menagerie of random orbiting ******** stats and facts that happens in absence of the W.

Put the guy that wins on the field.

Man, how bad has the punting been this year....smh....you almost forget about it because it is taken for granted
It wouldnt be good to calculate the number of yards in field position we have given up on both punt teams.
Painful.

Here’s the problem with this line of thinking. The games HH won, would Purdy have also won? The game Purdy lost, would HH have lost as well?

They played different opponents, and I believe Purdy, against the same competition, would have won just as many as HH, and maybe one or two the HH lost. But that’s just an opinion on my part, there’s no way to prove it.

It’s very difficult to compare them just by wins and losses, simply because the competition level isn’t the same.

Purdy’s turnover-free 17 points against Wisconsin (a better defense and offense than any of HH’s wins) was enough to beat every single opponent that HH quarterbacked teams beat and that’s his only start so far. HH’s defense gave up 14 points or less in all wins. Purdy would’ve beaten Maryland with a full game no doubt. HH himself didn’t win **** except vs. the college of sister Mary Margaret who couldn’t scout him. Anyone still thinking HH is in any way a better QB or in any way “won those games” himself is not a serious person. We saw what we saw and the numbers don’t lie. Any below average QB would’ve “won” those same 5 games and then some.

By this dumbass logic, we should be clamoring for Iowa’s backup QB to start here because he “wins games”. Stop it

Serious question, who looked better, Purdy and his one pick on the last play of the game or Haarberg and the many picks and almost picks he has thrown this year?

I honestly do not understand how some on this board, after all the TOs by Haarberg, continue to say he is the better QB after what we saw out of Purdy last week.

This is not me frapping on a Nebraska kid as Kong will undoubtedly claim, this is me looking at both players’ play on the field objectively. What am I missing THIS YEAR that tells you Purdy sucks?
Its called objectivity. The other thing that gets thrown up is HH actually winning a game, he is a winner, a grinder, etc. Can't deny that. But I would also have to consider who he played in the games we won.

And Hoiberg. And Alberts. And Grant. The list goes on and on. The only person I can ever recall him actually pleased with was HH.

Purdy had the best QB play last week that we’ve had all year. Per the eyeball test and per his stats. It’s naive to say that he’s not as good because he’s 0-1 and Haarberg won some games. There’s so much more that goes into a W or L with so many players and coaches influencing different intricacies of a game

I like both QBs. Purdy may be a better fit for what Satt calls. HH is a warrior who plays his *** off for us. They each have glaring weaknesses and we only have one game of Purdy, albeit rather impressive, he did choke drives outside of maybe 3 series.

I blame the staff. They put us in this situation. I’m not going to **** on each of these players. I respect what they’re trying to do amidst of the worst Husker offense I’ve ever seen. Very poorly approached and coached offense

1. I wish people would refrain from using the term "light years ahead". It is a term that should never describe anything in a press conference or comments on a message board. ..it's Silly.

2. All of our QBs need to put in real work. I want to hear about a guy that's always in film study or a guy that's the 1st guy in and the last guy to leave. I want to know they are putting in that extra work. I want that guy.

Ironic that Kong liked this post
Why? Every other post here is a direct shot at me or putting words in my mouth. This place cannot handle the truth so it lashes out at what it perceives as an easy target.

Happy thanksgiving to all! I’m thankful for everyone on this board, even if most of you are dumb as rocks.

GBR!

I haven’t seen anyone - myself included - say anything about “not as good”.

Just that one is a winner and the other is not.

Intangibles matter. A lot.

Getting that extra yard instead of running out of bounds short when your punter is *** matters. A lot.

Our career under .500 head coach even used the term “winner” to describe one and not the other publicly.

Not sure why that’s so hard for so many to grasp. It’s extremely straightforward.

You seriously need to reevaluate what a "winner" is if HH is your definition of that....
