This might be the game where Purdue finally gets 'right'. O'Connell has been banged up, teams have focused on not letting Charlie Jones beat them, Purdue got healthy on D with Graham back and Purdue has actually been running the ball with some success.
On D, Purdue has the best (or one of the best) run defenses in the B10. Hasn't allowed a 100yd rusher yet and has given up the fewest 10+ yd rushes in the league. So, UN will be forced to passed, not sure it that's your strength.

Ross Ade will be sold out for the Saturday night game, coming off two tight road wins, the team and fans will be happy to be back home. Should be a great atmosphere.
Purdue covers 35-10.

your coach is a major liability (one of very few to have lost to our former loser coach)

I expect him to F up royally and cost you the game for the third time this year

you’re purdue. you don’t beat anybody by 3+ scores

Agreed. The defense is flying around compared to before. Idk if they are thinking less and just playing? I expect a Purdue win, but it isn't as easy a win as I thought it would be before the season started.
Chin’s alignments and schemes made no sense. Not only were the combination of the front and back calls not complimentary, they were contradictory

I hope Purdue is as confident as their fans.
1st 3 games of the year NU defense giving up 492 yards/game
Since the MJ takeover NU defense giving up 406 yards/game
Since the bye week we are giving up 319 yards/game

Not cherry picking data, just going by dates. There has been a shift. Maybe that is due to how terrible the B1G is.

So, you can sit back and tell yourself, this is the same team that gave up 528 to NW and 642 to Georgia Southern, and 580 to OU and expect it to roll into Purdue and give up more of the same. Maybe it IS the same, maybe not.

So, I assume you're taking nebraska and the points? Don't you have like a 35 yr old starting a CB? Please put him on Charlie Jones.....
yea. doesn't exactly send chills down the spine seeing a guy named AOC throwing to a former iowa player.

I could see a defensive battle. Purdue has seemingly been stuck winning those ugly defensive games the past couple. Offense is struggling atm. One drive it looks great, next two, blah. Need to get healthy.

How's Nebraska overall health?

Purdue is very banged up

-Top 2 running backs are out (Downing and King D)
-Starting offensive Tackle and his replacement are now out for the year (Cam Craig & Daniel Johnson)
-WR Broc Thompson still out
-LB OC Brothers out

Not to mention they lost their "12th" starter on both offense and defense in fall camp (TE Garrett Miller and DT D. Lewis)

Ton of other guys playing around 75%

Then why bring it up? If it’s football then it’s football and the injury excuses don’t need to be brought up.

Cause I'm legitimately curious how healthy you guys are? Players missing impacts the game and depth matters. I see you are incapable of having a discussion on football. I'll see myself out

Which makes me wonder why Smothers hasn't been given a chance, I think he's a better runner than Purdy. The one thing I don't like about Whipple offense, he doesn't roll out the QB as much a he should and Smothers would be perfect doing it.
I’m wondering if ball security isn’t why smothers hasn’t been given more opportunities

Oh a 100%. We are talking covering the spread. I just don't see us getting a mudhole stomped in us except for maybe Michigan. Like I said, I think Purdue wins, but to me it'll be a close game. I think we are going to go after Purdue's linebackers in coverage. They are slow and are not good against crossing routes.
My wife went to Purdue so I watch them. The Boilers rarely blow out teams and always seem to be in close games. Other than their overwhelming victory over Indiana State their games have been close this season. They can screw up too. Their Syracuse game was a mess.

In the past four years, NU has won 2 games by two scores and lost two games by one score. I expect it to be a close game. If NU's D plays four quarters of defense instead on 2, NU can certainly win the game.

I think Mathis has been building the last couple weeks. He is due for a big game and has slowly shown flashes of what he can do. You know little baby face AOC is gonna be back there throwing the ball 60 times. Now is the time to tee off.

Syracuse and PSU. Both should have been won. Refs got a little flag happy at the end of SU imo. Should have won that game by 3 scores though.... luckily, Purdue seems to have gone back to the typical brohm teams that don't make stupid penalties over and over. What sucks right now is Purdue is 60 seconds from undefeated. On the flip side, they are just as close to 1 win, so take them where you can I guess. Keep improving.

What makes you think he will throw 60 times? I'd highly doubt he does. You will see a healthy dose of Mockabee if I had to guess. AOC is also good vs the blitz. Better off dropping 7 imo.

They will throw it at least 45 times. But did throw it more than 55 times against Syracuse and Penn St.

Don't know what the line is now but 13.5 seems high. I figure we'll lose but more like 7-10.

its hyperbole. I have no idea what he throws it, but just guessing it will be a lot and we can chill on the run D a little.

I'd say 40-45 times. They've been running the ball a bit better, which has helped. Their run game and run D was what won the minny game. Very unBrohmlike.

DB Chris Jefferson, a key member of Purdue’s defensive secondary, is expected to miss Saturday’s game.

I was telling my Purdue grad wife that I thought a lot of people are going to make money on the game this Saturday. Other than OU the Huskers have been in every game. I think Vegas figures the Huskers will have another OU meltdown. I don't see it. I too think it will be 10 points or less and I won't be surprised if the Huskers win.

I don't believe he played last week either. Definitely a loss, but he had been filling in for Graham who's back and healthy, so not quite as big as it could have been. OC Brothers possibly being out could hurt worse as it takes speed away from the LB'ers. Which is where you can really expose them. They are really good at stopping the run, but getting LB'ers not named Graham in space is not good. Wahlberg has really stepped up the last couple weeks, but it still isn't great. This team has been carried by the defense though.

Run game didn't win the game against Minnesota. Mockobee had 11 carries for 112 yards. The last 5 carries were for 80 of those yards, took place in the last 4 minutes of the game. The 56 minutes before that he was 6 runs for 32 yards, nice average but not exactly pounding the rock to win the game.

Your buddy who is making the excuses would say that Minnesota was also without their best RB for the game.

The first drive was mostly carried by the run game as well. Minnesota didn't expect Purdue to punch them in the mouth. Purdue ran for 160 yards in that game. Threw for 199. Run game and run D were major reasons Purdue won that game.

As for the run D. I bet the under on Ibrahim rushing yards. The Purdue run D wasn't good because he was out. It's been good all year at eliminating RB's from having big games. The QB boot has hurt them, but every RB they've faced has had a bad game stats wise. Yet to allow a 100 yard rusher. A big reason for this is Purdue rotates 3 deep at every Dline spot.

Biggest issue on the Purdue D early was CB play, but now that trice is healthy and not wearing a knee brace, that's improved. Still far from perfect, but not a liability. Defense has won them 2 straight games.

On a somewhat unrelated note. I have always liked how Brohm doesn't talk up injuries or try to make excuses, they just show up and play, as opposed to a guy like Fleck and his excuse rolodex.

They ran for 160 against Minnesota. Literally half was the last 5 offensive plays of the game and another 30 was on the first drive. So outside of the 1st drive and the last drive, they ran the ball for a whopping 50 yards. Or about a yard per minute.

After the first drive Minnesota D shut down the vaunted Purdue rushing attack save for a single 68 yard run on the second to last drive.

I’ll give you the run D but I am not sure the rush offense was as important in the victory as you believe. They still ran the ball 23 times. 4 were QB hurries or sacks on pass plays. And had 44 designed pass plays.
