Georgia Tech was very good under Bobby Cremins and played for the title in 2004 with Jarrett Jack and company. Haven’t been good for a while.

Eddie Sutton won 5 conference championships and went to a final four at Arkansas before Nolan. The coaching hires since Nolan have been pretty bad. Anderson was decent but Stan Heath and Pelphrey haven’t done much of note since they were both fired.
Obviously that was a long time ago but you’d think Arkansas has the facilities, fan support and recruiting base (Arkansas produces much better basketball players than football, 2020 class is #5 with all Arkansans) to be a much better basketball program than we’ve shown in the last 25 years.
For me it’s because growing up, they were the team to hate. UL wasn’t on our radar then. I bask in their irrelevance.
Played for the title in 2013 and 2018. Was an Aaron Harrison 3 away from potentially another Final Four in 2014. I would say that’s relevant.
Another small window, you can’t take Eddies decent success along with Nolan’s and think that’s who Arkansas actually is. The other huge majority for Arkansas before and after is nothing like that. If you think those small windows in history is who you are then you can do it. But nobody here is ever going to believe anything other than Arkansas is a mediocre program.
Who gives a ****? Nobody is here for approval. I come here to talk Hoops with a fan base that is pretty knowledgeable. I've been doing it for close to twenty years and during those twenty years we haven't been or sniffed a final four. Still a fan.

Oregon State was in the top 10 all time in wins until the late 90s, they were overshadowed by UCLA in Pac-10 play when only one school could go to the tournament.
We’re 22nd in all time winning percentage even taking into account the mediocre last 25 years so I’m not sure you can say it’s a small window if we’re still a top 25 program all time
There are bad fans in every fanbase. I would venture to guess we aren’t the only ones that have said bad things about Cal. He isn’t very well liked by opposing basketball fans.
I remember the stuff some said on here about Anderson and the unsubstantiated claims of him being racist as well.
What does Anderson being a racist or bad things about Cal have to do with anything, again you’re a mediocre program and I don’t care if you like that or not.

Maryland used to be a pretty good program with a lot of great players coming out of there.

NC State back in the 70s broke the UCLA dynasty then came back in the 80s with another title under Jim Valvano.
What was the team that had the player who passed away and his team mate shot a free throw left handed in his memory and scored a ton of points. Loyola Marymont maybe?
Even Oklahoma with Wayman Tisdale and coach Bill Tubbs who looked like Jack Nicholson, had some high scoring teams.

Lol. You are trying to flex and put the program down. Even with the last 20 years of mediocrity we are still a top 25 program. 6 Final fours isn’t “ mediocrity” by definition. You also used “we” as if you speak for the whole fan base. At the end of the day you’re just a normal fan.

I can understand that for someone under 40 Indiana seems as irrelevant and harmless as Morehead. And they have been since about the time Bill Clinton was first sworn in. But deep in the recesses of time they were THE rival for Kentucky's place on the throne of Greatest Program of All Time. And their fans were far more pestilent and rabid and foaming at the mouth than anything from Louisville. Let them ever get off the deck for even a season -- even an Elite Eight run -- and it won't seem so comical to you.
Sam Gilbert is no longer around to pay the best players in the country to go there. Plus they now have one of the 3 ugliest coaches in the country coaching them.
