As RU fans/supporters, we’ve been through a lot and we’re still here. This might just be it for me though unless the riot brings GS back. Slim selection for local D1 football, but would you consider supporting another team that you could still make it to a few games a season?

I wanted to go to Penn State but my parents wouldn't agree to pay for it if I went there, so I cheaped-out and went to Rutgers, and cheap Rutgers then, cheap Rutgers now. I'll just start supporting PSU like I wanted all along. This Rutgers degree does nothing for me at this point in my life anyway.

Sorry life hasn't worked out for you.

I didn't say that. I said PSU >>> Temple or Maryland. Why would anyone quit Rutgers to go to another loser U. We've had enough of that. Quit rutgers and do something fun instead. Like PSU.

I already have Navy Season Tickets and it's been a great experience and they treat you a lot better than Rutgers does.
Also enjoy the DII schools around here. Princeton and Lehigh..

I'm already an Army fan.

I also root for LSU, Auburn, Kansas St in football, but it would be better if a team from NJ was trying to be big time college football again.

I might be pissed, but will always root for Rutgers.
But won't expect t them to win.
I'm back in my 1980s and 1990s mode:
Hope for a win, but expect a loss
As for who is hired;just like always since Burns was dismissed: I'll hope the new HC succeeds

I wouldn't say OK but definitely more tolerable than Sandusky.

I mean...we're all flipping out over Rutgers not hiring Schiano who was there while that **** was going down. No one cares about Sandusky. PSU brushed that aside with little difficulty. Everyone loves a winner. They actually got better AFTER the scandal was resolved. Much better. Because it's a great place with a great admin, which erred in the face of Joe Paterno's power, and people lost their careers and freedom over that, as they should. But look at that community. They banded together and showed what a great program is all about. We are extremely jealous of that here. Which is why we will never let the sandusky thing go. It's literally the only thing we have over them.

"erred in the face of Joe Paterno's power", but we should give the same power to Schiano?

My son goes to the USNA so I follow Navy and get down there for at least three home games a year. The rest I watch on TV. The games are exciting, players are disciplined and well coached, and I agree, the fans are a lot better treated on game day. It's also great to walk to downtown Annapolis before/after a game and have a plethora of great bars/restaurants from which to choose.

Check out Davis Pub. Locals spot just out of the center of town.

I also go to a couple Harvard games a year. It's not the SEC but Ivy League football is pretty good. I was at the Harvard-Dartmouth game when D won on a 50 yard Hail Mary with six seconds left. Harvard Stadium is a national historic landmark. You buy a cheap ticket and can sit anywhere in the stadium. You can then walk on the Charles River or around Harvard Square afterwards. The Charles River and the Harvard bridges on a nice October Saturday is a very picturesque scene and and a great way to spend a fall afternoon.

Been there. Great spot. We also love the Boatyard, Galway Bay, Fox's Den, Federal House, Chart House, Severn Inn, Harry Browne's, etc. A lot to choose from down there.

Herman's doing a bang up job there for $5 million/year- at 6-5/4-4 in his third year.

Tom Herman is a mental case. Hope we don't hire someone like him:

When you have to resort to stupid **** like this, it’s already over...he’s the perfect jackass for that school and ******** of a city (literally)...whenever I pick up someone at the Asstin airport I greet them with welcome to almost Texas.

My college didn't have a sports.

So I can root for anyone, right?

My new favorite team is whoever wins the National Championship that year.

Happy times here I come!

I am giving up my 6 tickets and no longer donating. Not going to be the nut following every move the program makes. I will still root for RU, just not support them with time and money. Play golf longer into the fall and tape the games. Keep it lite and once they are down 21 I just FF to the end and call it a day and laugh how bad we are. The trick is to get people to forget I was a big fan so I do not have to go through the Monday morning "what happened to Rutgers" conversation.

Princeton is not a DII school and I'm pretty sure Lehigh is not one either!

I'll just go independent like the old days. Pick and choose. I'll go to an Army, Navy, Lehigh, and even Temple game for my new season. I'll create my own schedule. UNLESS Hobbs pulls Rabbit out of the hat and scores a home run coach who can recruit and coach and show some true tangible results FAST.

After 43 seasons I've had enough..and its not even closely about the GS fiasco.

Hard to believe I was even in serious position to leave a SIGNIFICANT portion of my estate to Rutgers back in the. KMac days.

Now the school just continues to embarrass me on and off the field. I no longer wear my clothes with pride. Heck, I pick and choose wear and when to even wear them. Very sad.
