Neither have we.

ISU is definitely trending upward and, best case scenario, we are staying the same.

ISU winning 3 of the last 4 is very significant.
Switch coaches and Iowa would be the talk of the country in a few seasons.

Kirk would be shown the door at Iowa State. Run and punt doesnt work when you are behind the 8ball in talent and finances.

So it’s what we are all saying - they have become an Iowa but nothing more. This season will be the same.

I’ve been trying to decide which game to attend this season.

I have reached the conclusion I will not pay a dime to see this crap.. And that makes me pretty unhappy 😞

It's not just about their results in the Iowa game (1.000 winning percentage the last 2 years btw). Yes they play in a weaker conference but they look much more likely to shake things up in recent seasons. Meanwhile Iowa has gone from playing hard to just grimly marching forward. I think if nothing else ISU continues to rise while Iowa is declining. They might be about even this year, program-wise, but what happens if next year is a repeat of this one?
Big12 teams kicking B1G a$$e$. Definitely not a weaker conference.

I just sent this earlier in a text...

ISU is on top now. If I am a young kid in Iowa, why in the world would I cheer for Iowa IF I had no allegiance already.
- Iowa St. has won 3 of 4 against Iowa.
- Iowa St. develops QBs that are really good and can move the ball.
- Iowa St. has had more WRs that are top talents and in the league leading to more exciting offenses.
- Iowa St. has tight ends that aren't historically as good as Iowa's but not bad and get in the NFL.
- Offensive line is okay but thats not what younger kids care about.
- defense is mixing coverages all the time and can stop the run with only 3 DL.
- Defense plays together as a team in coverage and fill gaps well.
- Coaches are younger and dynamic. They love their school.
- Kicker hits bombs like ours can.
- Their conference isn't impossible so they can actually have a shot at the playoffs. In fact, their conference looks horrible so they might get a home game.
- They win bowl games now.

Iowa has all the history and tradition in comparison between the two schools, it's not close. In a who is a blue blood argument, it's us. KIDS DON'T CARE ABOUT TRADITION. They want fun and excitement while winning.

Iowa St. is little brother still but we are in the retirement home talking rambling about stuff that doesn't matter today. Beating OSU all of two times, decent records against Penn St and Michigan... doesn't matter. Those are fleeting days. We play seniors who have earned their way. Sure they may be slow and can't get to spots they need to but dang it, they get us in the right play.

Iowa has to do something right now to get that spark back. Hopefully they put it together the rest of the season.

I say not really, ISU favored by 3, at home, last year Iowa St had a magical season beating Iowa at the end and coming back late in 3 other games if not more. They could have been 8-4 last year very easily. I think Campbell is good at letting his players play. Iowa St was gifted their bowl win when the Canes QB sat out and they got trounced by ASU.

The hawks were 8-4 reg season last year and could have easily been 10-2.

#3 Iowa plays a much tougher schedule. IOwa St played UCF, Cinn, Houston, that is not OHio ST, Penn ST etc
Pretty sure you played Northwestern, Maryland and Washington last year? I love how you guys mention Ohio St when it comes to strength of schedule/conference. Problem is, you only play them once a decade!

ISU has qb play that is light years beyond ours. How we’ve fallen so far behind here is really all you need to know about the program.
It's all you need to know about Kirk Ferentz. He's the best thing to ever happen to Iowa State football. Hayden Fry owned them, then along came Kirk.

I believe Fry was 16-4 against Iowa State, including 15 straight. The great Kirk Ferentz is 14-12. Pathetic.

Out of his 205 wins, Norm Parker, Phil Parker and Chris Doyle are responsible for the large majority of them. Without these 3 he's a now long retired High School Coach, so congrats Kirk, you did something right.

He's basically Todd Lickliter with a headset.

Iowa has now lost 10 in row to ranked teams, and been piss pounded in at least half of those. That's what Kirk Ferentz is currently doing for Iowa Football. GTFO!

Pat Forde nailed it in regards to Iowa QB play: "You don't change Iowa. Iowa changes you". 100% fact.

Hoping an Iowa fan won the Powerball in Texas or Missouri. If it were me, I'd let Kirk hopefully beat UMASS, then I'd give him his flowers and can his *** the next day with a buyout he doesn't deserve.
