I dunno... maybe if we'd given some gameballs to Jordan Tucker instead of always giving them to Bags he wouldn't have transferred...

How can we possibly know if we didn't give them to him?! Duh!

I see why everyone picks Bagley, but he took 21 shots, the next closest was Carter with 9. Carter had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Grayson is struggling with his shot, but he only took 5, but had 12 rebounds and 8 assists. O'Connell was a spark too off the bench.

To your points a couple things: Bagley is a great player, a FRANCHISE PLAYER, and some of his relentlessness and moves on offense are breathtaking. I understand why he's the kneejerk POG choice.

However, what Grayson did yesterday w/o a fg proved to be huge dividends in the Wake win.8 assists some of which resulted in 3 point buckets mean he was resposible for about 20 Duke points. Add to that the TWELVE BOARDS???!! Thats crazy for a combo guard. The young man almost pulled off a double double in assists and rebounds- a real rarity. My hats off to him and I would make him and Bagley co-players of game, sharing the honor. OFC

Bagley. Not only for the scoring, this was his best defensive game yet. Played the passing lanes tremendously, and altered more than a few shots. He just doesn't belong in college basketball, and we are so fortunate to have him.

It was indeed his best defensive game to date, and Wake has a couple powerful bigs on the inside....I give Capel a lot of credit for that too, he was really into the game from the sidelines, and thats the most ACTIVE DUKE ZONE I have seen...OFC

Bagley. I don’t know if he can be stopped.

Ask Javin.

Kidding aside, we need to go to Bagley literally every possession until it stops working. Give him the ball and see if he can score. If he can't, kick it back out and we'll run something. But he should *always* get a touch.

I agree for the most part, but I worry about the other guys getting caught up just watching the game. I really like the balance we had against Pitt when 3 guys had 15 and 4 guys had around 10. I know that kind of balance is more difficult to achieve, but I think it also makes it so much more difficult for opposing teams to develop a game plan for how to defend us, instead of just collapse on Bagley and help on the kick out.

Thanks for posting, Hart. Bottom line is that Grayson is a winner, and he'll do whatever it takes to win...and this is what it looks like. Also this shooting slump of his isn't going to last forever.

Agreed. I think the bigger the stage, the more aggressive he will get. Just like in the 2015 finals and this years Mich state game. I think he is just wired that way.

I actually think the offense has been planned out perfectly lately. Seems like the first 8 minutes, we try to get Duval, Gary, and Grayson going. I love how Duval attacks early in the game, even though he was unsuccessful against Wake. We also have ran the play where Gary curls around a screen for a jumper in the first couple minutes of every game, it works almost every time. Important for Grayson to get shots up early too, because we need him to get going.

My gripe is when the game gets tight, then the ball needs to go inside EVERY POSSESSION. We would still be undefeated if we followed that plan.

I hope he comes out of it soon Dirt. Yes we're dangerous already, and Bagley is special, but I think we need that swag that Allen has when he's hitting shots. He will still look to get our bigs touches, as Trent and Duval should get the ball inside as well, but a scoring Allen makes us next to unbeatable.

Dirt my pleasure... It would be tough for a lot of seniors to thrive in this role, particularly when going thru a scoring slump. Yet he's thriving in OTHER WAYS, and thats maturity!

Absolutely, Mac! I'm like you in that I believe Grayson is one of the main keys to winning it all. He's fearless, and a clutch shooter (who is in a slump), and we do need that swagger he brings to the table when he's scoring well. As much as he's helping in other areas, we can't win it all with Grayson scoring 2, or even 8 points very often (not against elite teams anyway). And this particular Duke team definitely needs his 3 point shooting. It's coming though...maybe it'll take seeing 'North Carolina' across a jersey, but it's coming!

Love Graysons game management, but this team needs him to start scoring going forward...his 3 point shooting is terrible, dont know why,but hopefully he'll figure it out soon

I think he will. Remember Grayson even in a shooting slump still gets so much attention, I think its actually freeing others up. (Trent is getting a lot of wide open looks because of this).OFC
