The gleeful one strikes again.

You seem overjoyed to be dashing the hopes of UK fans.

That's interesting to say the least.
Aww, someone seems triggered. Don’t let me be living in that head rent free now.

Oh I don’t only believe it, I know it’s true.
Lol, riiigghht. If you say so!!!

That is 100% wrong . It immobilizes the foot , hand , whatever is in pain so you don't put pressure/stress on it causing what ? Pain. Sprains are about swelling and pain . Fractures are about needing time to heal and if you continue to move on a fracture it can worsen . A cast provides more protection and immobilization then a boot .
Um, no! Cast are for mobilization, so things heal; not pain management. After time, the pain will obviously dissipate because of the healing process, but the cast itself does not alleviate pain. If someone has pain, you can give them pain meds. No need for a cast that must be plastered on and cut off.
Nope but they help prevent further injury and provide support! Plus it’s not uncommon to have one for just a couple of days. Don’t take a chance let PJ be fresh for the next game! Not worried about Seton Hall or Worford we are more than capable of beating them without pj
Okay. Can you name some instances of players who had a hard cast for a couple of days for precaution and then played again 2 days later?

Well by definition sprain in ur foot is exactly that torn ligament
Not accurate. You can also stretch and twist ligaments. They do not necessarily have to be torn to be damaged.

Why don't you run along to your own board now? You are way too happy about this news. You sir are not a UK fan and we don't care what you have to say about this matter, it is none of your business
Sure I am. I just don't buy into the retardation narrative most of you seem to accept.

Of course I want PJ to be ok personally as well as for him to be able to play. What bothers me is the deceptiveness with Cal's back and forth. Either he's good to go or he's not. I am an honest person, brutally honest at times. So that part is hard for me. I know they don't tell us everything and they have a reason for doing it that way. It's just hard for me. But I will always root for my CATS until my dying breath.
You do realize medical situations and solutions change and evolve don’t you? How the hell do you know Cal has been deceptive?

Protecting him for the draft. Sometimes it's easy to forget that Championships aren't the priority at Ky anymore, it's draft night. This stuff only happens to elite talent. Any other player would just tape it up good, if it's a sprain, and play ball.

Cal protects his players come hell or high water which is great to an extent. But I believe it's been overkill too many times since he's been here and it's cost us dearly.

I'm a UK BASKETBALL fan and all that matters to me are Championships. I could care less about a players draft stock.
How would lying about his injury being not as bad as it is protecting his draft stock? A sprain is a couple of weeks thing they are gonna know by combine time how sever the injury is. Lying about it now literally has zero effects towards the draft! If he was a top 5 that wouldn’t be participating in workouts or the combine lying might work since no one will see him but still virtually impossible.

My guess is he dresses on Saturday and plays if we're struggling. I don't know. Ugh, what a kick in the nuts. It's always us.

Once again. You can’t argue with irrational people who lash out because they think they are owed something.

Will the team sign the cast, will Cal? Will the random UK fan be allowed to sign it?

I need answers!

There is not 1 sentence int his post with any truth to it . I mean it is a free world and you welcome to think these wacko things I guess but it makes the whole dumber by putting it out there. I mean the thing about UK basketball being only about championships if your opinion and not a right or wrong matter but your life has to be pretty miserable since we have only won titles in about 5 % of the college basketball seasons . To me it is about being in the hunt and wining as much as possible which Cal has done. No coach has won more or had more tourney success in Cal's tenure in a major conference ( gonzaga has won a ton but they play is a garbage conference)
Cal recruits at the highest year in and year out and we win a lot of games. Not only should we be winning a lot of games, we should have at least 3 titles in his 10 years because up until recently, no one could get the talent he could.

So, being in the hunt is underachieving with the teams we've had. Titles are what we should have. UCLA brought home titles year after year because they got the best. Doesn't matter now, how they got the talent. Cal has majorly underachieved with the talent he's had because he puts draft night ahead of Championships!

True, and we also have even more fans who are simply tired of the constant bad injury luck, compounded by close losses in the tournament.

It's beyond anyone's hands, which makes it even more frustrating because it's not fixable.

That said, if PJ is done and UK somehow manages to squeak through this weekend, I hope Cal comes out and lets us know that Washington won't be playing like Izzo did with Aherns.

Yeah but some fans are taking it over the top. Saying he is done for the year, we aren’t winning tonite(which is soo damn laughable i question there b-ball knowledge) and just making some really dumb comments.

Jarred Vanderbilt really has brainwashed some of our fan base. If PJ was done I’m pretty sure they would come out and say it instead of saying he will be back and it’s just a sprained foot.

Like do we reallllllly need PJ tonite or would the extra couple days rest be better? Use your b-ball brain on that.

Damn. This sucks. If he's not playing tonight then he's not playing Saturday. Hopefully we can make it through to the sweet 16 and he comes back. He probably won't be the same when/if he does come back either. It's going to take a Herros effort to reach the final 4. I'm still optimistic that can happen

I think the only incident that was protecting draft stock was Vanderbilt—and that’s a situation where he could play and would not.

If you think Cal was somehow protecting WCS, he did a terrible job. Willie came back.

I’m hopeful that we’re sitting him out for a game we should win.

If he takes this weekend off, next game would be nearly 2 weeks after the injury.

As far as flipping out about the hard cast—Cal and or PJ probably asked them to do everything we could to ensure he’s back soon. If X-Rays are negative, there’s no major injury. You don’t lie to protect a kid’s draft stock from a sprain.

I really do not care what you think or believe. BS is in the eye of the beholder. I made a statement that is true. You or whoever else believe what you want. It was not my intent to persuade you or anyone else. All I know is what happened to me. (No friend of a friend or guess.)
Well said!

Actually my favorite post of this thread

and boy has this thread gone off the rails fast.

Never thought so much nonsense could fit in 5 pages. Its like there is no middle ground on here. There are intelligent posters like Saul and Irish and then there are total nut jobs coming up with conspiracies and grassy knoll theories about Cal and PJ LMAO.

It is what it is . Lets hope he plays Saturday . After that IF we win I don't think there is much to be concerned about BUT pain tolerance and healing is different everyone . If PJ can play he will as this means everything to him.

Yes you do. I have had a hard cast three or four different times on my leg and had it removed anywhere between a day and a week each of those times.
Is this WCS if so why didn't you play against UConn!!!

This. Seen this when I did some M.A and X-ray tech work

He doesn't have a fracture . If he did he would be done but this is literally just a pain issue . A hard cast , like a boot , is used for mobilization and the team has doctors can take it off whenever they want. This does bring into question I agree if he can play Saturday but beyond that I wouldn't be too concerned. If he doesn't play Saturday though the games get much more difficult but we still are light year's more talented then either team. Once you get to the sweet 16 that changes .

You don't get put in a hard cast for a couple of days. Don't see him playing this weekend either (if ever again).

If not, I don't think UK can beat Wofford or Seton Hall without him.

I’m not saying he will definitively be out of the cast by the next game, but yes you can be out within 24-48 hours. A hard cast just ensures there is 0% chance of movement to activate the sprain further.

It's very confusing. I got an update from my source an hour before Cal's press conference yesterday still saying he was done. After I saw Cal's presser, I started to feel better and think that the guy giving me the info was wrong. After I woke up this morning, I saw a thread where Cal supposedly said (I didn't see an actual quote) that PJ is good to go and felt really good after seeing that.

I really don't understand Cal's optimism if PJ can't play. Just a weird situation
What is Cal going to do but be the eternal optimist. Yesterday the fanbase was pissing themselves over ucla and pj.
Imagine Cal coming out all sullen, he has 9 other players he has to project for. Before people jump my throat, it's only an opinion , 1 I don't truly adhere to

I guess what bothers me is,yesterday Cal said "he is good to go,and expects him to play,Now nothing in that sentence tells me "hard cast".Kentucky should make it through the weekend without him,but if they get bounced on Saturday, and lets hope they dont, they're will be alot of heat directed toward Cal.I would have accepted him saying P.J is day to day as opposed to...Hes good to go...
