I'm not a law talking guy, but I suspect the reason this case was so quickly and quietly dropped was because anyone involved on the DoJ side was going to be subject to professional sanctions. The embarrassment of going this far didn't bother them, but not being able to practice law in 2030 did bother them. There is no pardon to give you back your license to practice law. As big of a cult member as Pirro is, even she knew she'd have been on the hook for this.
