Effin technical for once so maybe ONE game we will get some GD calls this is just absurd its just sickening to watch you sit there on the sidelines with your arms folded the whole game
Frankly, even with bad officiating today, we didn’t deserve to win today. 3/22 from 3 will never beat Iowa
I don’t understand why people think Pike getting a T helps us. The team already plays hard. The refs aren’t going to change.
Turned the game off in the second half after PM got whistled for getting clocked in the face. First time I did that all year. Pike really pisses me off sometimes by trying to be the softest coach in P5 ball.
I guess you’ve never seen him at a home game getting the crowd involved.Because Pike is soft as s*** and shows no emotion during the game. At least show the players you care about the horses*** that gets called.
Every time you see a coach get a T as said above if fires the team up and they do get calls; A perfect example was I think when we played Iowa at home last year and McCaffrey got the technical right before the half and boy was the whistle different in the second half!!!What a comical sham that was. If you don't eat a T there you never will.

you've got be kidding me with that last line. I've seen hundreds of games where the coaching and challenging the refs have changed the officiating.geo was 1-6 and Ron was 0-4. If they do that we can’t be at any big ten team.
I am just not sure why people want pike to get T’d up. So we can give the other team 2 free points in a game we are already losing? There is mot one person who can name 2 games they have seen in there life where a coach getting a T helped the team win.
The refs are not why we lost last night. We couldn’t shoot the ******* ball. That has nothing to do with working the refs or not being soft when your own players are getting clocked in the face.

As to MJs first foul disallowing a put back: The guy guardingMyles under the basket was way shorter than Myles. Myles push d off but it’s nothing you won’t see dozens of times a game w no whistle. Ref decided otherwise."If I'm going to be frustrated by anything w/Pike, it's that he still hasn't gotten Myles and some other players to consistently sense and adapt to how the refs are calling the game, so as to limit the impact of whatever the refs do. And that failure is clearly hurting us."
Can somebody link up a video to the first foul call when the game was on split-screen. Looked completely bogus to me. I appreciate your point, but Myles would have had two seconds to adjust to how the refs were calling the game last night.
PS: Meanwhile your opposing center gets to throw blatant elbows the rest of the game and have the recipient of said elbows get the foul. I mean I'd be ticked too.
You have no freaking idea what you're talking about and have obviously not watched Pikiell up close in person in a real game. I will say this though, this staff has got to do something about Johnson's body language. The way he looks like he's given up when he picks up a foul or two has to rub off on everyone else. It rubs off on me, I can tell you that because every time he gets a foul now I figure the game is over.Because Pike is soft as s*** and shows no emotion during the game. At least show the players you care about the horses*** that gets called.
Thanks. I'm a big fan of focusing on what can be controlled. We can't control the refs, nobody can. We can only control how we adapt to them and try to win that battle like Garza did last night.Mildone completely nails it. Rational and in my mind correct.
You're not understanding what I wrote at all. Until the first foul on Myles, which we can all agree was ********, nobody knew just how focused the refs were on the bigs. But immediately AFTER that, Pike and Myles knew and Myles should've instantly adopted a much more controlled approach to D on Garza, leaving some space and letting Garza initiate contact, at least for 5 minutes or so. And Myles did not do that."If I'm going to be frustrated by anything w/Pike, it's that he still hasn't gotten Myles and some other players to consistently sense and adapt to how the refs are calling the game, so as to limit the impact of whatever the refs do. And that failure is clearly hurting us."

Can't let your player take a blatant elbow to the face and let him take the foul. That's my problem with yesterday.
I mean it's so egregiously bad, something has to be done.
I remember the TV crew saying Pike was pissed when Myles drew his 3rd foul which was pretty obviously a flop by Garza. Pike was immediately up and in the ear of the ref after that.after one of the BS calls, the radio crew said Pike was fired up going after the ref and you can't see how Pike is reacting on TV.
Pretty sure it was the Mathis charge on Garza when Garza jumped up and Mathis banged into him. Garza hit the ground like he was 160 pounds and Mathis was the 265 player. It was a joke.

how was not that reviewed? They spent 5 minutes reviewing the play where weiscamp pulled mathis down on top of him (in between foul shots no less).....IMO that play alone proved the utter incompetence of the crew last night.
That's almost always true of every game. We could have won that game despite some bad calls by the refs. But we couldn't win it with the TOs, the abysmal FT and 3-point shooting combined with Wieskamp being unstoppable from beyond the arc. There wasn’t A reason we lost. Numerous things came together: reffing DID hurt us; weiskamp going off hurt us; stupid TOs hurt us; inability to hit a three hurt us. All contributed to the loss.

The refs are imperfect. The question is, do we want to be victimized by it? Or do we want to get better at taking advantage of it, the way Garza and Iowa did last night?ya you're correct. Garza this big *** dude sure gets knocked down a lot. lol but the refs buy it.
I think foul 3 was not so legit. It was less of a push-off and more of a situation where Myles had his hands all over Garza and, as Garza threw himself forward, Myles reached out to maintain the contact - a purely natural thing to do. In real-time, that looked very much like Myles shoved Garza. But in slow motion, it was pretty clear that Garza initiated his own forward movement and Myles hand contact was largely incidental.I definitely believe Iowa was prepared to take advantage of Myles pushing off. Definitely embellished, but fouls 2 and 3 were legit and had to be called.
Did you mean that our radio crew saw something? Exactly how did the radio crew see something we did not? They were watching and doing the game from SHI Stadium on tv, just like we were watching at home.
Best of Luck,
Groz
