1. We get everyone's best shot & we got it today. Mack shot out of his mind.

2. 1st SEC road game for young guys.
Now they know what to expect.

3. We kept fighting & almost won! Big positive!

4. We shot terrible & still almost won in a hostile environment.

5. This team will be fine. We will lose 6-8 games. It's ok....we'll be fine by March.

FANS:

1. Quit overreacting after every win & loss. We read too much into wins & lose our minds after a loss. Be calm...slow down! It takes time.

2. ENOUGH of throwing Cal & players under the bus after every loss. Some of you need to get a life away from basketball...it helps...makes you a better fan. We have good players & you're just a moron if you think Cal cannot coach.

Blah blah. You think you have to give a sermon? Ignore the morons, they will go away sooner.
A few on here think preaching helps, guess what, it don't.

Several aren’t even UK fans and it’s woefully obvious.

I'm not pretending today was no big deal. It was. It's bad loss to a mediocre team.

UT, Auburn, Miss St are good teams. UK will have to be at their best to beat them. Can't afford losing to teams like today.

This team has a 2011 feel to it. Got the **** beat out of us (UCONN by 30 in 11; Duke by 34 in 19); owned UL at home, dropped first SEC game on the road a week later.

I’m nowhere near panicked.

When one of your goals is to get as high a seed as you can you can't lose games like today where you're clearly the most talented team. We played in as hostile environment as they'll see all season last weekend in Louisville and we prevailed. How is going on the road to Tuscaloosa worse than that? We had poor performances from some key players and the others were unable to overcome it and Cal couldn't make the right adjustments. Frustrating loss to say the least.

Been watching UK basketball for 55 years. There has rarely been a year that I can remember that we didn't lose at least one conference game on the road against an inferior opponent.

I watch very little SEC basketball, because unless UK is playing in the game, you don't see any of the 13 schools playing like they are going to play against us.

Today was a great example of this in the team that was wearing "Alabama" on their jersey. I FORCED myself to watch some of the Alabama game vs Stephen F. Austin the other night. The team that struggled against SFA was not the same players that wore "Alabama" uniforms today. Alabama will not play another game even close to the game they played against us today their remaining schedule. If we play them in the SEC tournament we would beat them by 20.

My hats off to them on their incredible effort today. Despite us not playing as well as we have recently, and shooting very poorly, we had a shot to win it at the buzzer.

My daddy always had a saying, "Some raining night in Starkville" you get knocked off...in other words, a night on the road in the SEC when the fans are swinging from the rafters and your opponent plays way beyond their abilities, and you are off a bit, you lose. You move on.

I feel there is a helluva better chance that we get to the Final Four than those that wore the "Alabama" jersey today...don't you?

This was the first REAL road game today...The best thing about today is we only have 8 more SEC road games. I can hardly wait until March.

I really don’t know why you would give a **** about Kansas. I only care about UK, and since when does another team, in another conference, make us losing to an SEC team, matter. Two wrongs, doesn’r make a right.

SEC road game. Hate to lose but it was on the road. UT and Auburn will lose on the road too. The SEC winner will probably have 4 or 5 losses more than likely. It's gonna be tough to get road wins in this league this year.

I’m as positive as any Kentucky fan. I know we will lose some games and have seen plenty of conference road losses to inferior teams.
We were supposed to be better than this. Frankly, there were 3 teams everyone considered to be at the top of CBB before the season began, UK KU and Duke. Duke and Kansas seem to be what everyone thought they would be. Why not us? We are another loss from being unranked after a #2 preseason ranking.
We are missing something and it’s been gone since the Wisconsin loss.

This is right on. Call it sunshine or whatever you like but it’s reality. Team is fine. We are fine and our tourney ceiling is still what it was last Saturday when you guys were all smiles. May not help seeding but maybe we steal one we shouldn’t.
You negative, “I need to be undefeated every year to have a positive attitude” fans are the MINORITY. This post represents the vast majority of UK fans. Love the team. Hate when they lose, but not the end of the world.
Same as politics, the most vocal are the most negative- not the most repesntstive.

Great post gracetoyou!! Very reasonable and you’re exactly right! 2 point loss on the road to an SEC Foe isn’t going to make our season. Hope the kids learn from it and crank it up. Love this team. Woohoo Go Cats.

Somewhere along the way, it became completely acceptable to lose regular season games to inferior opponents, to a portion of the fanbase.

It also became completely unacceptable to ever complain, be frustrated, or be upset with losing regular season games to inferior opponents, to a portion of the fanbase.

You know. It's perfectly okay, healthy even, as a fan of a team, to not like said team to lose games. Doesn't make one less of a fan.

Get the grief out, in a constructive manner, and move on to the next one. Obviously anyone who goes over the top with "Fire Cal" or any of that ******** is just trolling.

It's cool that our fans are becoming immune to losing on the road. Just remember that it's all a process. Why should we expect freshmen to get up for a road game?

It's getting to the point some of our fans would be happy if we got a trophy for the players showing up for the game.

This loss did hurt in terms of trying to win the SEC this year. We need to win these type of games in order to accomplish that. I'm thinking like @Looksbetterinblue that we need to steal a road game we weren't supposed to win to make up for this loss. I even told the wife's step Dad this very thing yesterday. We will be fine. Relax.

The law of averages worked for Alabama yesterday, they shot better than they usually do and played harder. They are always very athletic and are always tough at home, they are getting better each week. You are not going to keep beating a team that's pretty good every time you play them, especially at their place. That being said I still think we should have the game, Travis had the worst game he's had and PJ didn't do much along with our two 7 footers, it's amazing we were as close as we were. Kentucky will get better, these guys were all stars in high school and don't like losing, it was the first time 6 or 7 of the team set foot in Coleman Coliseum. They have to grow up fast here.

That’s easy to figure out. It’s sending all our players to the NBA, and what’s left, don’t get much playing time, so they transfer.
