Has the NFL completely lost their mind?
so NBC/Peacock has lost their minds. that sounds crazy expensive, but perhaps not. im just a pleb.NBC/Peacock paid the NFL $111 Million to show up to 2 exclusive regular season games and 1 Exclusive Playoff game for the next 3 seasons.
So I'm pretty sure the NFL is counting their cash all the way to the bank. Does that equate to "losing one's mind?" Perhaps.
Yeah I know it’s about the money but don’t they have 2 wild card games? F em. Their broadcasts are awful. I’ve got the package and a great tv and the stream is still crappy. I hope Peacock loses their *** on it.NBC/Peacock paid the NFL $111 Million to show up to 2 exclusive regular season games and 1 Exclusive Playoff game for the next 3 seasons.

The tough part for the NFL is they can't serve the fans a **** sandwich and convince most of fan bases that it will taste great, like the college football conferences have been able to do.NBC/Peacock paid the NFL $111 Million to show up to 2 exclusive regular season games and 1 Exclusive Playoff game for the next 3 seasons.

I've already bit the bulletNBC Peacock only cares about their stock price and keeping their investors happy . Their investors want to see their streaming platform continue to grow subs.
They added almost 8 million new subscribers this past fall because of their Big Ten contract. Now I have no clue how many of those people cancelled soon after signing up, likely a good chunk. But its not expensive at all. Almost an unnoticeable charge. Hell, I do notice Netflix, but 5 bucks for Peacock is insignificant.
This game will be on the local NBC channels in the Miami and Kansas City Markets, but there will be millions of people outside those two DMAs who do want to watch. If they draw 5 million+ new subs this week, it will be a gold mine for them.
For all of us Husker fans, I would remind you the Purdue @ Nebraska game this week will also be on Peacock. And next Fall, there may be as many as 20 Big Ten football games on Peacock. You might as well bite the bullet now.
Not I. Cable TV is going the way of landlines and typewriters. Peacock is one of the most affordable and best streaming services out there. The ESPN+ streaming service sucks and it costs twice as much. Football coverage needs competition. NBC & Peacock can compete with that woke *** Disney/ESPN that you guys all seem to love. I'll put up with a couple glitches. They'll figure it out. Amazon Prime improved a ton this year on Thursday nights.Yeah I know it’s about the money but don’t they have 2 wild card games? F em. Did you buy ESPN+ to watch Big 12 games?the idiots will prove nbc right, methinks. it's capitalism at play here. don't buy it. i won't. if you do, don't blame others when you're paying to see N play ohio next fall.
absolutely. wbb, mbb, football, the whole network is b12. college not pros.Did you buy ESPN+ to watch Big 12 games?
I pay for it in my cable package. Why the hell should I have to pay for it again to watch NFL playoff games?I live in KC so will get the game on the local NBC affiliate. Otherwise I would have ponied up the 6 bucks, like I did for NU football in the Fall. A good point was made above- NBC and the NFL will get a few million subscribers for 1 day (i.e., 1 month) because of this. That’s likely been the plan all along.
Live sports is highly valuable content. We should expect to continue to pay for it in the future.
So why are you sanctimoniously wagging your finger at anyone who dares to subscribe to Peacock? Didn’t you also succumb to a media giant trying to squeeze more $ out of viewers?absolutely. wbb, mbb, football, the whole network is b12. college not pros.
I don't think the long-term plan is to get people for one day. The long-term plan is sign them up for a month and hope people either like it enough to keep it or not care enough to cancel it. Slowly force exposure to it and get some people to keep it is the plan.I live in KC so will get the game on the local NBC affiliate. Agree, But I’m getting rid of Prime and order again next football season after I watch the last of Reacher..I don't think the long-term plan is to get people for one day. Technically you didn’t pay for it in your cable package if it’s not included in the package. They didn’t win the bid against Peacock for these particular games. Gotta take it up with them and take money out of their pocket if it’s a deal breaker.I pay for it in my cable package. Why the hell should I have to pay for it again to watch NFL playoff games?
because they pay to watch f'ing pros. it's hilarious. a jersey cheer. have at, chefs. lol.So why are you sanctimoniously wagging your finger at anyone who dares to subscribe to Peacock? Didn’t you also succumb to a media giant trying to squeeze more $ out of viewers?
There were also NFL playoff games on ESPN+. In fact, there are all kinds of professional sports on ESPN+.because they pay to watch f'ing pros. it's hilarious. a jersey cheer. have at, chefs. lol.
true, i watched 'catholics v. convicts' again the other night on the plus. There were also NFL playoff games on ESPN+. In fact, there are all kinds of professional sports on ESPN+.
Don't you feel like a gasbagging hypocrite for helping finance this consumer ripoff, while scolding other people for subscribing to Peacock?
Part of it for me is the inconvenience and the inability to seamlessly channel surf during the 7 minute long commercial time out. I have 7 TVs in the house and of course the one I often find myself watching at night isn’t able to stream games. There were also NFL playoff games on ESPN+. I had a neighbor with a peacock. For the first week he had it I thought there was a woman being molested at his house. Yikes. What a screech.Peacock was always one of my Bird Imitations.
The Woodpecker was my favorite!
Not just a single screech either!I had a neighbor with a peacock. For the first week he had it I thought there was a woman being molested at his house. Yikes. What a screech.
Don't tell any Chiefs fans you have a peacock. They'll show up at your door Saturday night with a bag of pork rinds and a six pack of Hamm's.I had a neighbor with a peacock. For the first week he had it I thought there was a woman being molested at his house. Yikes. What a screech.
