when the husker game was on peacock it sucked. it was hard to pause, rewind etc. Maybe not a big deal for some, but when you have kids, etc there are interruptions and ill say that in that regard dish network is better. Cant speak for any other streaming service.

Has the NFL completely lost their mind?

NBC/Peacock paid the NFL $111 Million to show up to 2 exclusive regular season games and 1 Exclusive Playoff game for the next 3 seasons.

So I'm pretty sure the NFL is counting their cash all the way to the bank. Does that equate to "losing one's mind?" Perhaps.

Yeah I know it’s about the money but don’t they have 2 wild card games? F em. Their broadcasts are awful. I’ve got the package and a great tv and the stream is still crappy. I hope Peacock loses their *** on it.

The tough part for the NFL is they can't serve the fans a **** sandwich and convince most of fan bases that it will taste great, like the college football conferences have been able to do.

I hate Peacock, but Comcast has rolled it into their cable/internet service. So I use it from time to time, since I'm paying for it anyway.

Will probably catch tomorrow's Purdue-Nebraska game there, at least until watching Flopper Loyer draw phantom fouls makes me turn it off.

NBC Peacock only cares about their stock price and keeping their investors happy . Their investors want to see their streaming platform continue to grow subs.

They added almost 8 million new subscribers this past fall because of their Big Ten contract. Now I have no clue how many of those people cancelled soon after signing up, likely a good chunk. But its not expensive at all. Almost an unnoticeable charge. Hell, I do notice Netflix, but 5 bucks for Peacock is insignificant.

This game will be on the local NBC channels in the Miami and Kansas City Markets, but there will be millions of people outside those two DMAs who do want to watch. If they draw 5 million+ new subs this week, it will be a gold mine for them.

For all of us Husker fans, I would remind you the Purdue @ Nebraska game this week will also be on Peacock. And next Fall, there may be as many as 20 Big Ten football games on Peacock. You might as well bite the bullet now.

All the streaming services now add more competition for bidding on sports media rights. So from a financial perspective only it is a very good deal for the college conferences.

I've already bit the bullet :D. I didn't cancel after signing up this year. So point made. The number sounded large, but when you break it down, it makes much more sense if they are adding huge numbers, even if it is just a month or 2.

I'll stand behind my crappy controls though. Hopefully they fix them. Being able to rewind or fast forward in 10 or 30 second chunks imo is a must.

I will pay for the Huskers but not an NFL game. I'm just going to focus on trying to get laid instead and watch football Sunday night.

Not I. Cable TV is going the way of landlines and typewriters. Peacock is one of the most affordable and best streaming services out there. The ESPN+ streaming service sucks and it costs twice as much. Football coverage needs competition. NBC & Peacock can compete with that woke *** Disney/ESPN that you guys all seem to love. I'll put up with a couple glitches. They'll figure it out. Amazon Prime improved a ton this year on Thursday nights.

I broke down and bought it, both the Nebraska game tonight and the Chiefs game Saturday night and the fact it’s going to be colder than a well diggers —- hole…

I live in KC so will get the game on the local NBC affiliate. Otherwise I would have ponied up the 6 bucks, like I did for NU football in the Fall. A good point was made above- NBC and the NFL will get a few million subscribers for 1 day (i.e., 1 month) because of this. That’s likely been the plan all along.

Live sports is highly valuable content. We should expect to continue to pay for it in the future.

I pay for it in my cable package. Why the hell should I have to pay for it again to watch NFL playoff games?

This **** annoys me. I already have 4-5 streaming services and I said I’m not getting any more, period. (about a year ago) And then they decide to do this deal with peniscock, the one service I don’t have and don’t want. I guess should probably just subscribe and cancel, but damnit if I’m not terrible at remembering to cancel stuff. Ugh…

Cable companies are the master of the **** sandwich.
Do you want the Big Ten network? Well you have to get the cooking show network, the baking show net work, the BYU TV network, God knows how many QVC channels…..

absolutely. wbb, mbb, football, the whole network is b12. college not pros.
So why are you sanctimoniously wagging your finger at anyone who dares to subscribe to Peacock? Didn’t you also succumb to a media giant trying to squeeze more $ out of viewers?

I don't think the long-term plan is to get people for one day. The long-term plan is sign them up for a month and hope people either like it enough to keep it or not care enough to cancel it. Slowly force exposure to it and get some people to keep it is the plan.

Technically you didn’t pay for it in your cable package if it’s not included in the package. They didn’t win the bid against Peacock for these particular games. Gotta take it up with them and take money out of their pocket if it’s a deal breaker.

Peacock is the only thing I subscribe to that I feel is worth it. At the same time I understand being pissed that you have to pay extra for sporting events that you used to get with out paying extra.

There were also NFL playoff games on ESPN+. In fact, there are all kinds of professional sports on ESPN+.

Don't you feel like a gasbagging hypocrite for helping finance this consumer ripoff, while scolding other people for subscribing to Peacock?

Part of it for me is the inconvenience and the inability to seamlessly channel surf during the 7 minute long commercial time out. I have 7 TVs in the house and of course the one I often find myself watching at night isn’t able to stream games.

I had a neighbor with a peacock. For the first week he had it I thought there was a woman being molested at his house. Yikes. What a screech.
Don't tell any Chiefs fans you have a peacock. They'll show up at your door Saturday night with a bag of pork rinds and a six pack of Hamm's.
