This is just my opinion, but Paul’s season was derailed by both injuries and a loss of confidence (which could obviously be very related). The first question is does Paul want to come back? The environment is a little different with the COVID year, but generally college players aren’t looking to play more than 4 years. The second question is who can they get in the portal. I have no doubt that if Pike can pull a better player, he won’t hesitate to do so. I am fine with Pike bringing Paul back, but I am also confident that I’d he can pull a better, more traditional point guard in the portal, that is exactly what he will do, and Paul will have to shift to being a backup or moving to small or power forward.
